Miscarried because of weight?

Have any of you been told you miscarried because of your weight? I'll be honest and admit I am not a small woman. I am probably 100 pounds overweight. I have school aged children and my husband and I decided that we wanted baby. It took a while for me to get pregnant but once I did we were so happy about it. I saw a new OB/GYN who confirmed my pregnancy at 8 weeks and lectured me on my weight. Four days later I miscarried and all he had to say was I need to lose weight before even thinking about ttc again. He said my weight was most likely the cause of my miscarriage. I have never heard of such a thing before and am so hurt and humiliated.
