Nervous about the way clothes will fit

I generally wear a size 2 and I'm currently a large (if you can use that word) A / small B cup. I wear dresses a lot and I've noticed that the tops generally fit well. One of my concerns with having a BA is if I will have a problem "spilling out" of clothes that may fit everywhere else on my body. I'm going to be a "full C" after surgery (I hope). Has this been a problem for anyone whose had BA?

Hi Sky,

I wear a lot of dresses, too, and I admit I had to get rid of a few because they no longer fit after I had my BA.

I went from about that size to a large C, small D and didn't have to get rid of too many tops. I had worn a lot of padded bras, and then didn't after the BA, so I think that helped some.

Oh, and don't worry if initially they're too large for most your tops. It takes some days (maybe even weeks?) for all the swelling to go down.

Maybe you could make some of those rice boobs to wear around and see if your tops still fit?

Don't be nervous about the way your clothes will fit! Speak to your doctor and express your concerns.

I was a 3/4 when I had my surgery and I had to lose a lot of my "flirty" tops that were designed to be slightly blousy. After the surgery they were obviously tight in the chest area and I had wound up donating a bunch of them. I also lost quite a few of my button up professional shirts. Even now, months later with my swelling long gone, I find if I want to wear button up shirts of any kind that I have to have them taken in.

If you do try them on with the "rice bags" in a bra to try them out don't forget to overfill them (because they'll be slightly smaller when under your muscle) - I did...
