i dont miss those beasts at all. i am 6 months out and loving every minute of it. i look at the big chested woman too and think wow i used to look like that. not any more. i feel normal, like i fit in now. if i see someone on line or hear someone talk about their boobs i speak up now. i am trying to get my sister to do it. i never thought this would ever happen and thanks to my hubby who was there for me through every step it became a reality. now just have to get him to agree for me to get a tummy tuck!! LOL.... i did smile. thanks!!!!

So, I was wondering how Zumba class has been with your new gals? I love Zumba but find myself really holding back because of my big girls. I can't wait for March 28, that is my surgery date. How long did it take before you were ready to start exercising again, esp. Doing Zumba? I love it and was wondering how long to wait before I can get back in to the gym?

I think I remember starting to do a light jog around 6 weeks, but didn't actually take my first zumba class post op until about 8 weeks.

Haha! I've not had a reduction, but after losing a large amount of weight, I did go down in cup sizes from a DD to a C. It makes a huge difference in how you view yourself and in the things you feel comfortable doing.

Oh Trish! I can totally relate to this!! Don't you want to share your excitement and happiness with everyone???? I really know what you mean. You will soon start to realize you are a normal chested woman and start doing all those things. I love jumping jacks, something I NEVER did, even in high school they would hurt me!
The back issues should also slowly get better. Now that I exercise regularly and walk more, I find my back is so much stronger. It took years of abuse with my huge beasts and now is finally getting back in shape. I see a chiropracter monthly just for maintenance and to make sure I am on track with it. See, all these problems caused by large boobs are so painful and stick with us for so long - I get so angry when insurance companies don't see the long term benefits to us and them, with reduction surgery!!

So...you are 4 days post op....hope all is going well with you. No one seemed to respond to your question about when you should be able to get back to your class. I was allowed to get back to my exercise class at 4 weeks and use my hand weights at 6-7 weeks. I have taken Zumba and know it is alot of movement, and fun, but you should be allowed to start back in to it slowly then. You will be amazed to not have those things bouncing up and down. It still amazes me sometimes, 3 1/2 years later!!
Stay in touch! and easy healing!

At 6 weeks I started light jogging but I really think it was too much to soon. My first zumba class was at 8 weeks and was a little painful on the sides but I still strapped them in pretty good so there was minimal bouncing. In my zumba classes there is a lot of intense jumping about with jumping jacks type of thing so I would say at least the 8 week mark and the doctor ok
