Surgery Friday....a little freaked out..

Hi All! I am new here. I am 39 and a mother of an 8 year old daughter and an almost 3 year old son. I have wanted a BR for YEARS. I am 5'3 and 40DDD.. Since I have had my son my breasts have gotten even saggier and my posture and back are paying the price. I went for a consult about 4 years ago and the insurance did not pay....very discouraging. I recently went to my new Dr for my well check up and told her about my back pain and she suggested that I try again, she was very surprised the insurance had denied me. I have a new insurance company now so I decided to give it a shot. She referred me to a PS here in Fort Worth and the consult was very exciting. He explained the procedure and what to expect...they submitted paper work to the insurance and in less than 3 weeks they called me telling me I was approved! (Last Monday) Now I am scheduled for surgery this Friday. All this happened in less than a month, my head is spinning. The great thing is I don't have to pay even 1.00 out of pocket. I have absolutely NO excuse not to get this done. I am a bit nervous, however. I guess it is normal.

My doctor told me in the consult that I would need about two

I've been told that they can be adjusted so the lever can be operated with a bit less effort but still be satisfactory.

That is neat; I had no idea. Yes I think it would be worth it for you! You want to make sure you have everything in place and ready before you go. All you can do and think about now will take slot of the stress out!

ladybug, I am like Nancy...had someone operate the lever for me or if it was the middle of the night or no one was around I would slip out of the chair with it in reclined position and then get back in...a little rough the firt couple times but not hard once you get it down. I hope your trick works to make it easier to operate. November is right around the corner! Excited for you!

I went to my follow up appt on Thurs...I was in and out in no time. They looked at the incisions and said it all looked really good. Doctor told me to keep wearing my mesh tube top with gauze over the incisions. I was finally able to shower which was great. I went in to work after the appt Thursday. I was feeling so good in the morning I actually forgot to take any Tylenol. Around lunch I needed it, though and then took it a couple more times that day. It was a VERY busy day at work so by the time I got home at 6 I was DONE. I went to work yesterday also..another really busy day. Did well but the pain is a bit worse now under my breasts where the incision is. I am going to take it really easy this weekend. I only told 2 people at work what I had done...everyone else had no clue. The man that sits next to me asked me yesterday afternoon why I needed some Tylenol..(he saw me taking it) I just told him I had some body aches. LOL I did get a comment from someone that she could tell I have lost weight. I just thanked her and chuckled to myself...the only weight I have lost is 3lbs in my breast and actually the scale shows I weigh MORE now than the day before surgery which is disconcerting. Oh well. I am a curvy size 12 and I think once all the swelling goes down I will look more in proportion but still my curvy self. I am very glad I did this but will be very happy to finally feel like these new girls belong to me...right now they seem a little off...just not used to them yet...weird to feel that way, I know. They really do look good...perky and according to my hubby, just the right size. I just can't help myself..I wish they were even smaller. I would not hate being a B cup having lived with large breasts for so long. Also...can't wait for the incisions to heal, they hurt. :( I guess I am feeling a bit of the blues today for some reason...need to get outside or something maybe.

Nancy, do you remember how you felt 1 week post op? I feel like I should be back to myself a little more than I am..feeling guilty for lying around in the recliner so much, especially when my house is now a mess!

Anyway, I am sorry it took me so long to update...Things were nuts at work so I had no time to get on and post and I was not up to doing anything after work..

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Thanks Barb...I needed to hear those words today. I am still just lounging and ordered pizza for dinner. I took a nap and had a nice quiet day. My hubby and daughter "cleaned up" which I am so grateful for even if their idea of clean and mine differ lol..I am so grateful. My daughter has also started the laundry and tomorrow my hubby will go to the grocery store with me to do all the heavy lifting.

Still no regrets...in a couple weeks this will all be a memory! Thanks for the post!

Aww, It's ok, we all get down at times. You just want to be back to the new normal and you will. It takes time. You might have overdone it, and that is the cause for your pain and not healing as well. But seriously, we all go through this some way. It is hard to not overdo it as you start to feel better and want to celebrate the new you. Just take it easy now and really listen to your body and your doctor. I had a hole open up but it did eventually close. Just take good care to keep it clean and dry and you should be good. You sound alot like me, always positive, and then when you feel down, it really hits hard. Deep breath and a hug from that amazing daughter of yours and tomorrow is a new day!! Before you know it, you will be wearing a sexy new Victoria Secret bra and feeling like a million bucks!!!

One day at a time!! Stay in touch and have a good weekend!

Nancy :)
