The month of April is Sexual Assault Awareness & Prevention Month (SAAPM)

This time of year can be an opportunity to break the silence and allow others to know they aren't alone, as well as to hopefully educate individuals in treating others with respect and listening to verbal and non-verbal communication when it comes to personal boundaries.

Although there are positive qualities to SAAPM it can also be a difficult time for individuals who would rather not  get bombarded with public service announcments or outreach events that seem to only remind them of their own pain.

What impact does SAAPM have on you?

I think that overall young men and women are taking sexual assault more seriously than previous generations. I believe it is from events like SAAPM that is helping.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.  I hope that is the impact SAAPM is having.
