You already know this, but I've got to say it anyway. Don't stay on P1 for a third week. Go ahead and move to P2.

Welcome back Melissa. So glad to see you. As Joy said, go ahead and move into phase 2. It's not a good idea to stay in phase 1 for that 3rd week. Good luck and keep us posted on how you both are doing.

We weighed in this weekend, dh is down 4 and I'm down 2.8 :)

I'm a bit rusty, please share with me why we shouldn't do a third week of phase 1?

Most often there isn't that continued rate of weight loss after the 2nd week and it doesn't take more than those first 2 weeks to get your blood sugar levels even and the cravings under control. Those are the only reasons to be in phase 1. Your body needs the nutrients from fruit and whole grains to be healthy. Also, having less options on phase 1 makes people feel restricted which causes them to cheat and fall off the wagon. It's best to move to phase 2 as the diet recommends after 2 weeks.
