Celebrex Weight Stall?

I completed Phase 1 in August 2011 to lose weight before my daughters wedding. I lost 10 pounds in 10 days which was wonderful. Anyway, I have just finished 2 weeks of phase 1 again but only lost 5 pounds despite eating same foods and amounts. Only difference is I have been on celebrex for few months for tendinitis. I just found out that this could have been the reason for the stall. Very frustrating has anyone else experienced this with Celebrex and did the weight come off once stopped? I plan on staying on phase 1 for another 2 weeks....without Celebrex

Celebrex could have something to do with it, but if you just did Phase 1 successfully in August, chances are it won't work as well again. SBD isn't intended as a "quick fix" type of plan. It's a long-term eating strategy. I would move on to Phase 2, and if Celebrex is recommended by your doctor, stick with it, as well.

Your body is ready for the nutrients it gets from Phase 2, and if you stay on Phase 1 longer, you might end up gaining back those 5 pounds. Phase 1 was truly intended to be a two-week plan.

Hang in there!

Hi & welcome. I did a little research and found that weight gain isn't a common side effect of celebrex. It occurs in less than 2% of people taking it so it's probably unlikely. The more likely reason is that you just lost 10 pounds in 10 days doing phase 1 just a few months ago. There's a phenomenon called the "first golden opportunity" when our bodies are jolted by the sudden change in our eating habits. It rarely happens again in women. A 2 1/2 pound per week average weight loss is a very healthy rate of loss and a great accomplishment to kick start your diet.
As Joy mentioned, phase 1 shouldn't be followed for more than 2 weeks. Phase 1 is designed to get your blood sugar levels in check so that you rid your body of cravings. You won't have those highs and lows throughout the day causing you to make poor choices. If you have any questions about going forward in phase 2 we'd be happy to help.
Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.
