I like asparagus but I am clueless as to some ways to cook it or how to store it once it leaves the store.

Help!!!

Any recipies on roasted, grilled, steamed would be great.

Thanks.

Hi,
I usually cook asparagus within a day or two after buying it. I always take my vegetables out of the plastic bag that you bring them home in and keep them loosely wrapped in paper towel.
To prepare asparagus for cooking simply rinse in cool water and grab hold of both ends and snap off the bottom. You'll be left with the tender part of the asparagus.
My favorite way to cook asparagus is to toss them with a small amount of olive oil and roast them in the oven at about 400 degrees until they're just tender and browned. It usually takes about 20 minutes.
You can also stir fry it. Cut it into bite sized pieces and add it to a skillet that you've heated some oil in with garlic & ginger. Add a few tablespoons of soy sauce and a small splash of sesame oil.
Here are some links with asparagus ideas:

I frequently roast them...however my favorite way is to lightly toss them with some olive oil and balsalmic vinegar, and then grill them. Pretty much a guarantee that if we're grilling, I try to get DH to toss some asparagus on the grill too :)
