Hi There! My name is Jena...just to give you some background...I am a BIG Girl and have a lot more weight to lose. Due to being very sick in June 2011, I have lost 67 lbs. in the hospital. I started out at 418 lbs. and now I am 351 lbs. I gained back some weight and got all the way back up to 364 lbs. and decided to try South Beach. After phase 1 -

Hi Jena,
Welcome! I would advise you to move on to phase 2. You'll probably be able to stick to the diet more strictly if you don't feel deprived. We'll help you come up with healthy substitutions for your favorite foods. If you stick with phase 2 you'll also get rid of those cravings by keeping your blood sugar levels even.

Welcome! I agree about moving on to Phase 2. You're off to a great start; keep us updated on how you are doing.

I'm WAY behind on this post but I'm going to chime in anyway. Go to Phase 1 for about 2-3 days, just long enough to jump start your weight loss and digest all that junk out of your system. Then move into Phase 2 to give yourself some variety, which will help you stick closer to the plan.
