I have bought some pinto beans and they are in a soaking in a bowl of water as we speak, they are the packet ones that I have to soak then cook before I do anything with them. Has anyone got any good suggestions as to what to do with them, I was thinking maybe in some kind of stew? I am a bit confused as to weather I can used canned tomatoes at this stage also??

You can use canned tomatoes as long as there is no added sugar. Just check the label for ingredients. I can't help you much on the pinto recipe; just try googling some for ideas. Keep in mind the bean intake shouldn't be more than 1/2 cup a day.

Hi,
No, the sugar content on the label does not have to say 0. There are naturally occurring sugars in tomatoes. Just check the list of ingredients to be sure that there aren't any sugars ADDED.
Did you decide what you're going to make with your beans?
