dyk I just got a call from Abi's teacher --

dyk Abi had a panic attack at school today

dyk they had a sub in homeroom, which is usually ok, but that may have added to the unrest

dyk but the panic attack with in music during the performance practice and I think Abi's teacher really already got to the bottom of it -- with it being the "dress code" of jeans that she was worried about b/c she told her teacher, "But I don't wear jeans..." then it became "I don't want people looking at me!"

dyk then her eyes got red and she started breaking out

DYK here's my $0.02 on the ordering of cakes....(keeping in mind that I'm biased as my dad is part-owner in a 4th generation bakery)....
DYK when you order a cake from somewhere that's a brick & mortar type business, you are not just paying for ingredients, but rent, electric, gas, insurance, equipment costs, etc.
DYK you are also paying the wages for the person who took the order, as well as the person who bakes the cakes, makes the frostings, decorates the cakes, and washes the pans.

DYK even keeping that in mind, I still do my kids cakes most of the time, because 1) I like to bake, and 2) unless the occasion warrants a really special cake, I'm too cheap a lot of the time to buy one!

DYK I try to explain this to my husband all the time. I can do 10 errends by myself in the time it takes to do 2 if I'm toting the kids with me...and mine are 12, 10, and 8.

dyk, poor Abi

dyk, but good that her teacher recognizes what is going on and (it seems like) she was able help/handle it
