dyk I sent Sean into work early this morning, b/c he's getting off early

dyk and I took the kids to school

dyk and was able to get them to clean up their rooms, get out their laundry, wipe down the bathroom after toothbrushing, put their dishes in the dishwasher, help get Ellie dressed, and Ellie didn't have a meltdown when the big kids jumped out at the school and she didn't

dyk pomegranates were 2/$4 and I bought 4.

dyk we always pay top dollar, lol, but the kids LOVE them and they are in season for such a short period of time!

dyk I am reading about power outages from the storm

dyk post Ike, places here were without power for TWO WEEKS

dyk reading the stories, it is as bad as I thought it would be and I wonder where the interviewed people who were shrugging it off... I wonder where they are now. How are they?

dyk I would pack the kids completely, but I need their backpacks which are at school!

dyk so my SIL got an 18lb turkey that needed 3 days to thaw

dyk got it YESTERDAY

dyk I found a site that said how to defrost faster so our turkey spent the night breastdown in a cooler filled with cool water and is now almost completely defrosted, rinsed and in the fridge. LOL

dyk just got an email from Dek's teacher regarding today's testing:

Phonics 100

Comp. 100 We did not take this test. We ended up having a classroom discussion and I checked for understanding. Could they find and prove their answers in the text? He did great!

Spelling/Dictation 100/100 Handwriting E

Papers turned in are neat!

dyk we got Dek two visors to help with overhead light that his glasses can't filter for him

dyk he used Abi's (pink) one yesterday for homework

dyk when we were done he handed it to me and said, "That worked out well for me. I'll take one in orange."
