dyk Deb, Joy has an excellent point about Liz being attached to you and she obviously trusts you and knows that your home is a safe place --- however, she's also right about the disrespect -- we've noticed with our kids (I'm sure Liz would appreicate my comparing her to a developing toddler, lol) that when they are growing into that safety zone where they realize the trust has built and they CAN and ARE "themselves" they also have some maturing to do b/c they do become or act out with disrespect and power struggling

dyk so apparently, Ellie is giving up her morning time nap, fine by me, but not her desire to lay down for a bit with her morning warm milk bottle

dyk Deklan is building his 876 piece lego city... without the instructions b/c he's apparently improved upon the design.

dyk I am also a firm believer that legal adult status doesn't a mature person make.

dyk and if my kids are at home past age 18 --- we are okay with that, we will do our best to embrace it! lol I'd rather have them here longer under our influence and tutillate and advice, than have them rebound back home having not been able to successfully transition out on their own

dyk Deklan will prob hit the door running into a technicall college at age 18 after he graduates and never look back

dyk but Abi -- she requires a different level of care and expertise -- so her leaving the "nest" will depend on so many factors like med compliance, phase in her bipolar cycle, maturity overall and how far out of touch with reality she remains or is at the time and/or over the upcoming years

dyk y'all know she has x-ray vision?

dyk I want to help Abi draw off a snake onto watercolor paper today and do a first wash and show her the saran wrap technique to make his "scales"

dyk but I'mnot sure she's up for it -- it may have to be in the late afternoon when Ellie actually takes a nap

dyk Abi was up late last night -- not sure what the deal is with that. She got whiney and we had to be really firm (read: a little mean) with her when WE went to bed at 10pm and after that she was out and slept until 7:15am

dyk a friend of mine (a Jen-friend) is reading a book of mine that no one has ever read.

dyk I wrote it in 2006 during national novel writing month and then printed it bound it and then... well life happened -- Abi became a manic 3yr shortly after that actually...and I wrote 2 more books since then....,and so....

dyk anyway she texted me that she's in bed reading it right now and is loving it -- she called it a page turner

dyk she's a pretty staunch critic --- so I was both anticipating and WORRIED about what she'd say!
