Helen Hunt Jackson- September Poem

The goldenrod is yellow,
The corn is turning brown,
The trees in apple orchards
With fruit are bending down;

The gentian’s bluest fringes
Are curling in the sun;
In dusty pods the milkweed
Its hidden silk has spun;

The sedges flaunt their harvest
In every meadow nook,
And asters by the brookside
Make asters in the brook;

From dewy lanes at morning
The grapes’ sweet odors rise;
At noon the roads all flutter
With yellow butterflies–

By all these lovely tokens
September days are here,
With summer’s best of weather
And autumn’s best of cheer.

dyk, today was day number 54 in a row of workingout

dyk, I will definatly get to 58 days, but I'm trying to get to 59 days!

dyk, it's crazy...almost 2 months straight of working out at least once a day. From the person who once said, "I'll never exercise, it just doesn't look like any fun."

dyk, never say never

dyk Wow, I'm impressed

dyk I am excited for our cruise, b/c when we get back, it will be fall.

dyk and we are doing thanksgiving with my granny -- EVERYONE at my granny's -- there's gonna be a TON of us -- sloeeping everywhere, haha.

dyk it makes me nervous though b/c I am not over the scare I had with Ellie and the pool -- my granny has an inground pool, and doors to it that LOCK and that are HARD to open from the sunroom.

dyk the kids were palying out there, then suddently I didn't see Ellie. The doors has been shut and locked, but the big kids were all inside and when I peeked out to see if Ellie had been left out in the sunroom -- the door to the pool was open and I went flyting out to the pool fully expecting to find my baby in it.

dyk it was HORRIBLE -- those 3 seconds b/c at first glance I could see 98% of the pool and that she wasn't in it.

dyk turns out, I had handed Ellie to my granny who had played with her while I was making dinner adn Ellie had then wandered off and into the bathroom (she had a thing for bathrooms)

dyk she was never in any danger at all, but don't think I will EVER forget the feeling of those 3 seconds

dyk when we found her -- the entire ordeal lasted 45 seconds from check for her in the sunroom to discovering her in the bathroom banging cabinets, I went into the room I was sleeping in and had a total hysterical melt down

dyk then I took a xanax
dyk I want a pool.

dyk Sean is 31 and we're still working out his meds (ADHD/anxiety/depression/mood instability)

dyk turns out, as he shared with me last night -- and I better not see a mention of this on facebook, his doc thinks he is suffering from one of the disorders on the bi-polar spectrum -- which would explain why we've not found anything that works for his depression ---

dyk bi-polar is a whole other type of major mood disorder

dyk and it is not entirely uncommon to see bi-polar in conjunction with idiopathic autism -- which we had at one point already discussed with Abi's doc and he had said yes, he noted the symptoms, he observed it as well, but that bi-polar was a very BIG diagnosis to give to someone SO YOUNG (even though symptoms go back to well before 3yrs old) without a family history.....

dyk and that would also explain the cycling we see in Abi and why her anxiety is BARELY in check and her moods are STILL not stable even though she is, in my opinion, a bit heavily medicated for being 7 yrs old -- though without them right now, she'd not be making it day to day

dyk so this should be interesting as Sean switches over to a totally different type of treatment for his struggles
dyk My mom is bi-polar and right now she isn't speaking to any of her kids.

dyk, a day off is good

dyk, although I've been working out everyday, I haven't been going balls to the wall everyday

dyk, my at home workouts are my slacker workouts

dyk, and usually Monday falls into that category too

dyk What about doing something like yoga on your off days?

dyk Me, sorry for the profanity "WTF?"
