Helen Hunt Jackson- September Poem

The goldenrod is yellow,
The corn is turning brown,
The trees in apple orchards
With fruit are bending down;

The gentian’s bluest fringes
Are curling in the sun;
In dusty pods the milkweed
Its hidden silk has spun;

The sedges flaunt their harvest
In every meadow nook,
And asters by the brookside
Make asters in the brook;

From dewy lanes at morning
The grapes’ sweet odors rise;
At noon the roads all flutter
With yellow butterflies–

By all these lovely tokens
September days are here,
With summer’s best of weather
And autumn’s best of cheer.

dyk, I took 2 naps today so I'm kind of awake, even though I've been up since 4 or 4:30 and didn't get much sleep last night

dyk, I actually missed working out today and I know I'm going to miss kettlebells tomorrow
Past Races:
-Boston Run to Remember Half Marathon, 5/29/11 (2:35:11, no training!)

dyk, I'm not sure how working out is going to go when I get back

dyk, I'm going to cut down and not go every single day, but I need to figure out a plan

dyk, right now I'm basically following:
Monday - arctrainer or elliptical; maybe a short ab session
Tuesday - run (I'm steady at 5 miles right now)
Wednesday - same as Monday; usually no abs
Thursday - same run as Tuesday in the am & kettlebells in the evening
Friday - same as Wednesday
Saturday - boxing & abs
Sunday - long run (currently building up to 12 miles)

dyk, the half training plan I'm sort of following has Monday as a stretch/recovery day & Friday as a rest day...maybe I'll consider that

dyk there is nothing unusual about Alisha's diabetes treatment as every diabetic's treatment and insulin sensitivity is unique

dyk there are no wierd terms, no strange times, or anything excessive

dyk just this is how we TREAT Alisha's blood sugars

dyk and let me tell you -- the past two days, we've done all 3 in school sugar checks in under 15 minutes total -- almost entirely BETWEEN classes

dyk and her sugars, though high one morning, have been relatively stable -- no lows at all. We didn't even have to treat or do anything for her the second morning, and BOTH afternoons

dyk and YES a nurse who has medical training SHOULD have NO PROBLEM

dyk I have no degree (almost in english/creative writing, haha) and I learned it.

dyk, then I'm thinking that maybe I should do C25k outside to build up my outdoor running

dyk, but I'm afraid I'll lose interest in it - either because it's to easy or because it's to hard

dyk, and I LIKE the treadmill - I kind having it to keep me honest, I like the constant speed (usually), I like how I can control it - I can't control the outdoors

dyk, there is a 8k (I think) program, that might be something to consider

dyk, then there's the matter of where to run outside

dyk, I live where 3 big hills meet - the top of one & the bottom of 2...the 4th part of the intersection is s huge set of stairs

dyk, I guess I could run outside by the gym...

dyk, my stomach appears more jiggly than normal

dyk, I blame today's food choices

dyk, I'm getting WaWa coffee tomorrow morning...or this morning

dyk, Destiny might understand how awsome WaWa is...I love going in there for no reason and just being in WaWa
