Do you drink diet soda?

I admit, I'm a Diet Pepsi fanatic.  I crave it.  I love it.  :)

BUT

I've read so many negative things about diet soda lately that I'm thinking of cutting it out of my life. ACK!  Do you drink Diet Soda?  If so, how many ounces per day do you have?  Do you think drinking diet soda slows down your weight loss efforts at all?

Yesterday I was reading somewhere that diet soda may make mixed drinks more potent and I got to thinking about another article I read recently about diet soda hampering weight loss efforts because somehow the sweetener tricks the brain into craving more sweets.

I have always wondered if diet soda was too good to be true and it seems as though it may be. I think I'm going to start making the switch back to regular soda.

I drink it all the time and it hasn't affected my weight loss. When I lost weight originally, I lost 72 pounds and I was drinking Pepsi One.

I'm not able to drink diet soda; the aspartame gives me migraines. I'd rather limit my intake of regular soda than be stuck with that kind of headache!

I seldom drink soda any kind I feel now this is my opinion on it.. Soda of any kind does hamper the losing and the health issues.. I use it for social or when I need a boost in feelings.. When I have conquered a good thing in my life I may have a soda.. I am at goal now and for me I have conquered being off of soda.. My daughter also has switched back to basic soda due to the sugar or sweetners in diet is not good either.. I myself will always have one with sweetner in it due to its diet.. ( in my brain I am diet person) I love my new body I love being a WW and for me its not a diet its a life style I want to continue with..

I've read the same thing about the sweetener tricking the brain into craving more sweets.  I may have to do some tracking to see if that is true for me!

Congrats on losing 72 lbs!  That's awesome!

Sounds like it isn't a hard and fast rule for everyone, huh?  Interesting!

I don't blame you at all!  If it gave me a headache, I don't think I'd crave it!

I love how you use it as a way to celebrate something.  So much better than grabbing an ice cream or something high in points!
