Back to Being an Adult Friday

I'm working today for the first time in...I can't remember how long!  The last time I was on the schedule, the client cancelled and before that I was in Lake Placid.  So...have to get my advice trainer brain back on. I'm going to parkour today and excited to move again. I still haven't decided on my gym membership, am leaning towards cancelling it (like 90%) but have until the end of the month since I'll be charged for May either way.  I'm starting to feel better at silks. I can't take four months off again! It's too painful trying to come back.  Anyone have fun plans this weekend?  I'm going to hang out at the parkour gym for the most part and tomorrow night, some ski friends are getting together for games night potluck. We've never done this before--should be fun!

Jean... about this "back to being an adult" thing... I do not approve.  Have fun with your classes and I'm sure the advice trainer brain will come right back.

FSN, that's good news about the lawyer.  Sometimes you just know.  It might not be a bad idea to ask him for some referrals and then call them... just so you're not making an emotional decision.  Or at least, making less of one.  (But I too would be more inclined to hire someone with animals in their office.  They could be an axe murderer but I'd be like "ooh, a dog...")

The Lorde concert was fun last night but man, teenagers these days... just awful inconsiderate human beings.  Yell

I woke up to a "work fire."  A client is dissatisfied with the work I did for him...  I love that in his info sheet, he said he was worried his original resume was too focused on a particular industry.  So what I did do?  I emphasized lateral skills.  And then he complains that I dismissed his specific industry experience.  YAY FOR PEOPLE WHO THINK THEY KNOW WHAT THEY WANT BUT DON'T HAVE A FREAKIN' CLUE.  Oy.

DH left this morning in kind of a huff.  Not with me but with work.  He got on the road almost an hour later than planned.  I am currently on my own - woo!  Planning to work today, do some cardio at some point, give myself a mani/pedi and binge on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

On the white person quiz, I predicted one of my dear friends (who is a mix of Spanish, Phillipino and a bunch of other things) would be the "most white" out of my friends and she was.  Cool

The advice thing somewhat came back but as time goes on, I'm less sure about the advice to give. There is so much new research on diets and carbs/protein/fats. It used to be so simple, just go by calories but I feel so indecisive telling people they need to find what works best for them, low fat/low carbs/whatever.  I do believe a person's genetics makes a big difference.

Ugh on the boss. It's hard to deal w/ people who think they know what they want but don't and get upset that you don't get it. It's my life w/ my mom!  LOL on the white quiz.  FSN got the whitest score I know!  Is it more of a quiz on being mainstream?  I was thinking I probably answered yes on the few questions she answered no on, eg. unicycle. And, for the record I hated Sex in the City.  I'm about the only person I know in my middle aged demographic who did.

I hated Sex and the City.  Best friends LOOOOVES it and I can't understand it.  It's just awful.  But then, you could make the same argument for the real housewives and I find them incredibly entertaining.  To each her own...

I can't watch the housewives. But, I do admit to watching Millionaire Matchmaker if I happen to catch it.

Hah!  I am the whitest person you know?!  That's not very white.  :O  I had an early morning conference call where my manager insulted all of us on the phone, calling us unprofessional and displaying unacceptable behavior.  Ahem.  A grown man having a temper tantrum.  Several of us were PISSED.  But, then, I need to realize that this is a reflection on him, and not me.  :( What a jerk.

I am relieved that I found this lawyer, although I seem to be a bad judge of lawyer character.  However, the one lawyer that  I am supposed to interview on Monday cut out of work yesterday to pick up his son from school instead of meeting with me (his admin cancelled the appointment, but when I insisted on a phone screen, after 10 minutes, he said he was in line to pick up his son from school), and the other lawyer I phone screened sounded like the good ol' boy from Mississippi that asked questions that eventually made me cry, so I don't think I want the abusive personality type as my lawyer.

I am going linedancing tonight.  I needt o some stress relief.  I will do yoga this weekend and wash the dogs...they stink after a week!  :P

LOL, no, you scored the highest on that test, not that you are the whitest person I know.  The test was just an odd collection of things.  Hope the new lawyer works out. Yeah, that good ole boy sounds like one to skip!  Given what they cost, it's crazy that you can't find a good lawyer in your big city!
