Sorry for being the absentee CL! You all know I'm normally here all the time but between the skiing and puppy and studying for the ski test, I don't get much time online if it's not on my smartphone and this site is hard to access there. It was an exhausting four days at the mountain--kind of the perfect storm of 18" snow, Presidents Day weekend and the Olympics and it seemed like everyone decided to go skiing. We broke records, had to shut down ticket windows, ran out of rental equipment--and keep in mind the mountain is tiny! It was crazy packed. I worked nonstop for the past four days (literally on the slopes at 7:30 for my own skiing and finishing w/out a break at 6 on some days) but it was some crazy fun. Had some great students, a lot of kids. One little boy said to me on the chairlift, "You know what? You're pretty nice!" LOL, as if he expected me to be some kind of mean ski instructor? I had a group of beginners who couldn't quite get it so I had to ski one down some, ski back up, get the next, ski back down, etc. I'm thinking I skied up the bunny slope at least five times total getting that group down. I'm wondering how instructors who aren't in shape do it!
So, today is a rest day for me. I have to work a few hours but am going to do as little as possible. I am thinking of doing this Killington triathlon--ski, bike, run. The question is whether I'd be able to leave skiing to do the rest!
