I don't know if it's an age thing or the activities I do but I have so many aches and pains, not from injuries but from moving. I don't mind getting older but just want young body parts.  I'm going to parkour today. This is just the conditioning class.  Karla, as having free time w/ my class going away, it's just one class for an hour and I'll probably pick up training hours that day. I was actually losing money holding onto the class because it doesn't pay nearly as well as training but I love the people and the class. Anyone have fun plans for the weekend?

Jean, was the cookie recipe you posted yesterday different than the one you sent me a while ago?  I recall that one required resting too.  I don't think I'm patient enough for cookie recipes that require resting.  I'll eat just the dough while I wait.  Cool

Feeling a lot better emotionally after getting news yesterday.  I didn't end up taking the afternoon off because the boys decided they want to go to Comicon so we're all taking off work today.  But then, younger kitty (who went to the kitty ER recently) started showing signs of a UTI again so we may have to modify plans to work in a vet visit.  Thing is, he seems alright now but we're going to be gone all day.  As much as I'd like to err on the side of caution and just take him in, I know it's very stressful for him to go so I have to weigh that too.

No real plans other than Comicon today. I have an appointment with the ENT this morning too.

Jean, I am right there with you on the aches and pains. I have friends my age who don't move at all and they seem to have even more aches and pains so I'll just keep moving. lol

Speaking of aches and pains, the antiperspirant is working on my feet. I don't seem to be sliding around as much after a few minutes.  I also bought more expensive running socks that seem to be helping (the blisters from my last 11 mile run are healing nicely) but they feel so bizarrre on my feet that I feel like I am concentrating on my feet too much during my runs. (I am one of those people that has to wear her socks inside out because of seems.) I am considering whether or not I should get a different size of shoes for long runs. My normal shoe size is 9 and typically I walk in 9.5 but run in size 10. My feet do okay mostly until I start getting into more miles. By the end of 10+ I have toenail soreness. I don't know if it is because I have been running a very hilly course or if I need more room in my shoes. I don't want to run in shoes too big because I have done that before and my blister nightmare is greatly magnified. Generally during the hot months I wear my Tivas when my feet get chewed up from walking to give them time to heal but I can't run in Tivas. My feet issues are so irritating right now that I all week I have been seriously reconsidering if I want to run that half or not. Ugg.

Enough whining about my feet. I am running a Color Run tomorrow with some gals from the gym and I can't wait. We have to leave our town around 5 AM to get there in time. We had someone pick up our race packets so we didn't have to leave at 4 AM so I am going to pack up a few things for breakfast tonight. The city we are going to is expecting rain tomorrow but not until the afternoon so I really hope the weather holds out.

Gym, I'm glad you got some decent news about your condition.

SJ, it's probably a good thing I don't like to bake. As much as I love cookies I'd be in trouble. :-)

And I saw pics from Fresh's Hawaiian vacation on FB and it looks like she is having an incredibly nice time.

Have a good weekend everyone!

GR, no the recipes are different. This guy tested a million variations of chocolate chip cookies, posted about the differences and then came up w/ what he thought was the best.  So the benefit of letting it rest: 1) every day for three days, we had fresh baked cookies since I only baked off a sheetful and 2) cookie dough any time you want.  I used to freeze cookie dough balls so I could bake off a batch whenever I wanted but our freezer got too full for that.  Hope little kitty is better.  How can you tell when a cat has a UTI?

BTW, speaking of pet problems, my puppy stopped having the limp so I don't think it's luxating patella, or she outgrew it. So thankful!

Ugh, taking up running, especially long distances, means feet problems.  I could never get a pedicure.  FWIW, I wear a 6 1/2 street show and a 7 1/2 running shoe. But if I'm going over 9-10 miles, I move up to an 8.  My feet swell a lot.  I was getting black toe nails w/ the 7 1/2.  What kind of antiperspirant do you use, just a regular one? I think I'm finished w/ long distances but once in a while, I consider it.

Add me to the aches and pains list...the foot I broke (had a screw in it) always hurts, sometimes. More than others...and my left hip and shoulder have hurt for a while...and I add in other odds and ends. But I walk through Mass General Hospital to get to the gym, and I see people younger than me in wheelchairs - and they often look like exercise is a foreign concept....so I get my butt to the gym....I have been watching the coverage of the DDay anniversary today. I am not sure which I loved more....Queen Elizabeth in her hat or the 93 year old man who re-enacted his parachute drop! We will be in Normandy next month, and I am hoping my nephews are taking in some of this. I also hope that the world leaders who were together today think about the cost of war and try negotiation instead....No workout today but a nice walk on the beach....I am going to the last of the graduation events this weekend..hope everyone has a good weekend!

Yeah, I need to count my blessings that I'm able to do parkour and silks and not complain so much about aches and pains!  I didn't know you were headed for Normandy--sounds like a great trip, touching.
