Happy Heart Day
Fri, 02-14-2014 - 11:25am

Keeping in line with the love and heart theme for the day...what are you doing to keep your loving heart healthy this day? We are expecting up to 6 inches of snow so I'll probably be shoveling later. Otherwise, I have a heart shaped cake in the oven and I plan to spend the day eating the box of truffles my hubby got me and catching up on Downton Abbey episodes.

Anyone got exciting plans for the weekend?

For once I DO have exciting plans: we are going to Joshua Tree Nat'l Park. Just an overnight, leave Sunday and home Monday night (its about 3hrs drive each way). I've never been there and looking forward to it. The occasion for the little trip is that Monday is our 36th anniversary.

Did an hour at the velodrome today, I made it on MWF this week so yay me. For V-day I got dh a musical card, and some apple turnovers for dessert. That was the extent of celebrating which is fine, he shows me that he loves me all the time.

Forgot to mention it before, I made those kale-quinoa patties and they were great! I made them larger than the recipe suggests (I made it into 6 patties). Dh loved them and wants them again. I have more kale than I know what to do with, so I'll make them again next week.

No special plans. I had a lunch time appointment, and was a bit disappointed not to go to cross fit, its a beautiful 70 degrees here. I am looking forward to a lovely long 3 day weekend to open up the windows and air out the house. I plan on getting to the Y tomorrow morning and hopefully lots of outdoor time over the weekend.

Karla, that sounds like a lovely day.

I'm going to do some yoga in a bit.  I've been feeling a bit rundown so I've been trying to rest more and not do as much.  We're using today as an excuse to do a chocolate and wine tasting.  DH is going to make dinner and OP picked out wine and chocolate.  We will probably end up watching movies and relaxing.

No other plans this weekend!
