Whew, whirlwind of a weekend and time just flew. I think nice weather makes time fly.  My daughter moved to my son's room last fall and we never did anything w/ her room which has been sitting empty. We don't have a big house so it's a wasted space. Our other bedroom upstairs is the office/snoring room (where my husband goes to snore). We wanted to move the bed to my daughter's old room, only we had no paint to touch up the holes. It drives me crazy that we had to paint the entire room just for a few holes.  Anyway so that was a good part of the weekend.  Yesterday, I went for a run, about an hour, walked the dog for another hour, made chocolate chip cookie dough (trying out a new recipe that needs to rest for a few days), finished the painting/reaassembled the room, went to Costco and came home to find that no one has done anything in the house. Husband had golfed and vegged out in front of the TV, son had gone out to lunch w/ friends and played computers, daughter stayed in her room.  Dog in the meanwhile had gotten into all sorts of things she's not supposed to and there was a mess everywhere.  Ugh.  How do moms raise families who are more proactive?  Enough of my rant.

I'm going to parkour tonight and then silks tonight. I think I'm going to venture to the dog park again. My dog ends up so dirty there but she loves playing w/ other dogs.

Given the distances that you're already covering, you have time to work on speed if you want and get a sub 2:00 half, which would be awesome.  It doesn't matter for your first, though, just enjoy!

Karla, it's so great to have a goal and a plan! Jean, Karla, there is an awesome Harvard a Business School article called 'Who has the monkey?' The. Premise is that the manager, who knows how to do his subordinate's jobs well, let's them delegate their work yo him..he ends up with a roomful of monkeys, and they go golfing...the video that goes with it is hysterical. Letting/making/teaching others to contribute to the household is fair and worth the effort. Gymrat, I too know I just did not have the patience to be a mother...I am sorry to mss out on being a grandparent though...I think I would be awesome at that! FSN, how many days until 'Aloha'? I had a semi busy weekend - I went to Zumba twice and Pilates on Saturday too...I think I've said before that the instructor is a little crunchy granola nutty for me, but her workouts are challenging. I went to Pilates today, ran two miles in 27:14, then a slow third mile..then lifted for chest/back. Yesterday marked 11 years that I've been on my gym journey....and I can tell you that 11 years ago, I never thougt a great day would be Pilates, running, and lifting...

I'll have to look for that monkey video.  That's really awesome the changes you've made and kept up for 11 years. You did two zumba and one pilates class on Saturday? Hard core!
