Let's Move it Tuesday

Actually, I'm not moving it today other than walking the dog and meeting friends to walk and get coffee. I did an hour of parkour, an hour of silks and half an hour of yoga last night and am feeling it in my shoulders (not muscles but tightness because my shoulders are old and injured). It's rail week in parkour so we did a lot of swinging, various ways and my hands ripped. I used to have calluoses but through ski season lost them.  And, this new silks level that I've moved to is a lot of shoulder flexibility/leg flexibility so I'm not sure I'll ever move off of it.  I think I need a massage!  What are you all up to?

Early morning meetings, lunch program, more work, go home and work.  maybe I will go Linedancing tonight.  :). I left the social event for work early last night.  I had intended on booking my vacation activities, but I fell asleep!  :O. I am so shocked that I fell asleep at 9.  This legal stuff must be stressing me out more than I thought.  Court tomorrow morning...I am "living the dream."  :P

Jean, you should definitely schedule a massage!

FSN, I usually go to sleep around 9.  There's really nothing that can replace a good night's sleep.  Good luck in court tomorrow morning.

I thought I was doing really good yesterday... until the afternoon.  I had it in my head that my massage was at 1:30 but it was actually at 1 p.m. and I figured this out about 12:50.  I was only about 7 minutes late but I hate being late.  I stopped at Walmart on my way home specifically to pick up a prescription but ended up leaving my prescription in my shopping cart so I have to go back...  OY.

Quiet day today.  Just a bit of work to do and heading over to OP's for the afternoon/evening.  Planning to do my first strength workout in weeks.  I'm going to keep it low key and ease back into things slowly as my doc suggested rather than my usual jumping in with both feet.  Tongue Out

SJ, I was reading your post from yesterday. I love being woke up by birds and sunshine. Most of the time it's a phone ringing, my husband snoring or the cats trying to rip the door down because their food bowls are empty.

Jean, the callouses on my hands have smoothed over too. Last week I realized I had been neglecting some muscle groups from running so much so I've decided to cut back and do more cross-training. My core has always been my week spot and I do tend to ignore it when I am doing a heavy mileage week.

Fresh, I wish I could fall asleep at 9. I am currently going through a spell of insomnia even with the Ambien. Ugg

Gym, if you are anything like me, I'm sure you'll jump right into your strength workout with both feet, even though you are going to try to take it easy, and then be so sore on Monday you'll wonder why you didn't take the doc's advice. lol

Today is a rest day for me. My granddaughter had to make a trip to the hospital yesterday because the incision in her stomach (where they pulled the shunt tubing through) opened so I had her sister all day. I had a run planned so I decided I'd just go ahead and run with her. So I jogged several miles with her in a regular stroller (it wasn't a jogging stroller so I had to shorten my gate quite a bit). My heels on both feet are sore from the strain of that stroller so I'm just going to do nothing today.

I read posts earlier, and I scheduled a massage for tomorrow! I am on the Massage Envy plan, and I have a few backed up....one f my shoulders has hurt for a couple weeks, and I gave other places that just usually are sore so this should be good. Karla, now you are running with a baby? You go girl! FSN, hope court goes ok tomorrow. Jean, I am so proud of my lifting calluses...hope your Parkour ones build back up. GR, I hate when I get off track and am late...I am making meTloaf tonight and stuffing for pork chops tomorrow. I decided to beefgicient..I fried the onions for the meatloaf, cut up onions and celery for the stuffing to fry in the same pan...went to get the egg for the meatloaf....couldn't find the celery and onions...because I put them in the meatloaf. Cut up more, assembled the meatloaf, put it in the onion...found the egg on the counter....I am trying to master good meatloaf, but I don't think tonight's will be the one....fortunately, the person I cook for never complains....I went to the gym, lifted for chest and back, abs, then ran a slow two miles...annoyingly, someone walking behind the treadmill knocked the plug out of the wall when I was almost done, and I don't have the time...luckily, I was walking at the time because if I were running, I think it would be dangerous. There is no good way to get to the treadmills without walking behind them, and there are a lot of new people at the gym, so it probably happens a lot...but my first time....but I know I ran my 2....

LOL, thankfully meatloaf is pretty forgiving.  How did it turn out. I'm surprised your gym doesn't have those cord covers for the treadmill cords. That could be really dangerous!

Hope your granddaughter in the hospital is better. What a special treat for her sister to spend a day w/ just you, though!  I'm impressed you were able to run w/ her in a regular stroller. When you go back to running w/out, you're going to fly!

GR, how are you feeling now? Is the pneumonia subsiding?  Taking it easy sounds like a smart plan.

Are you planning for Maui or for Paris? Why do I remember your talking about both?  Is it your whole family going? I'm having a senior moment.

Meatloaf...my comfort food, but I have been avoiding all red meat.  The weight is packing on and I can't seem to lose it...it's harder and harder as my hormones fade.  :P

Jean, Maui in June....maybe France in the winter.  I know, I know, freezing cold, but I am contemplating it.
