more Winter Weather on Wednesday

We are expecting four inches of snow today!  Thankfully, I had new all-season tires put on my car on Monday.  In November, I may get snow tires, as well, since this has been a really scarey winter for me to drive in!  So, in the last two days, I spent 7 hours getting all of my legal paperwork together for my lawyer, and then I scheduled a meeting with her to go over her response to my ex's lawyer.  I let my last lawyer make too many decisions for me, and in hindsight, I am not happy with some of the outcomes.  So, I am going to be much more involved with this lawyer.  My manager just fired someone on my team, and the person that was fired said that he was completely set up, and advised me not to trust him.  Therefore, I am proceeding very cautiously, as noone likes to be fired, and I don't want to be the next one.  You see, I see a pattern where the older reps seem to, at some point, get pushed out.  I know we work in an "at-will" state which means there doesn't have to be a reason to be fired, but, still, if I can avoid it, I will.

If the streets are cleared tonight AND if I have enough energy, I am going to a Hustle dance class.  Life is short.  Enjoy the moments!  I also have a linedance date with my girlfriend scheduled for Friday night, if my daughter has time, she is having dinner with us Saturday night, and Sunday afternoon, I have a West Coast Swing dance class scheduled.  I have not made time to work out this week, as work and legal stuff has consumed me.

I had to pause for a moment to figure out what day it was and make sure I posted in the right journal!  Really fun day at skiing yesteray--I taught three classes, two were indenpendently deaf so I could do a little sign (with a lot of apology for butchering the language). And, it was cold so I had to keep removing my mittens.  But, it was great getting back to it, talked to one woman about maybe taking classes at Gallaudet. I signed up for a skating class that starts today. We'll see how that goes!  Last week was shaky enough but if I sign up for classes, I'll go more and get past that.  At some point, I want to get back to private lessons.  Right now, I  need to find my skating legs again!

FSN, I think it's great you're doing so much dancing... and you may want to re-think the "I haven't made time to work out comment" because I would disagree.  Good luck with moving forward with the new lawyer.  I'm sorry it's even necessary.

Jean, enjoy the skating!  You are such an inspiration.

Had a lovely evening last night with OP, best friend and other wonderful friend.  Nonstop was a decent action flick despite a few logistical problems.  I got to bed kind of late so slept in a bit this morning.  I'm working at OP's, then off to train my remaining client and then I'll be home this afternoon.

I'm still getting the hang of the resume writing business.  It is incredibly detail-oriented and there's a lot to learn.  DH keeps asking me if I like it and it's hard to say just yet.  It's different and I like that it's different.  I also like that it's not simply writing "See Dick and Jane run" with 3x more words than are actually necessary.

No workout today.

Hi ladies, I just am checking in to say that I am still around but really struggling with the leg.  It is sort of better than not really better and on and on.  I see an ortho guy next week, and hopefully he can give me some good advice.  I hear that he is good.  During Lent I try to not be on the computer so much so I will probably post once a week or so, prob on Wednesday,  to say hi and see how everybody is doing.  I am really down, struggling in a big way with lots of life's big questions and just maybe need to pull inwards and figure it all out.  I hope that everyone endures this crazy weather and I also hope that I get to be more mobile soon.  the lack of physical activity is proving bad for my brain.  I downloaded an iyoga app as per my Dr's advice, maybe the stretching will do the trick.  best wishes!

Jean, I bow down to you...ice skating lessons?!  I wanted so much to be an ice skater when I was younger, but I could not keep my ankles from bending in so it was painful.  Either I needed better skates (and ankle supports) or I was not built for the sport.  But I envy you.  :)  GR, have you looked at LinkedIn for a possible resource for resume writing type stuff?  Each person's profile is a resume in and of itself.  Your social life sounds like fun.  You certainly have a family of friends around you!  Cath, so sorry about your injury issues.  I know it's not easy.  Prayers your way.  While you are waiting to heal, can you find other activities that bring you joy?  I know when my foot was broken, I was in a bad, bad way.

As you might guess, I did not go to the dance class tonight.  I am just too exhausted.  This week has been emotionally exhausting, and my body "gave out" today.  I am resting up this week so that I can really dance on Friday night.  I didn't even shovel/snow blow...just too tired.  Sometimes it's good to just take a break!

We got a little snow today too, and it is cold! Jean, I never learned to skate and I am so envious of people who can....but I guess not enough to risk breaking an ankle while learning....FSN, on the bright side, if you got fired you could take your ex to court....I am getting ready to retire, and I feel so badly for the people who are staying, in fear of losing a job they don't even like...Gymrat, your freelance work gives me hope that if I am bored in retirement (or need money) I will be able to find interesting work online. Cath, hope the yoga works out for you. I went to the Celtics tonight...the person I went with likes the Golden State team (a Celtics fan too ) so we went more for the opposition than our team. The Celtics are tough to watch this year....and since it has been so cold, I haven't gone much...I enjoy the games, but it is a long walk in the cold...much longer if they lose than if they win:). I went to the gym for foam rolling, 5 minute bike warmup, lifting for legs, abs. On the Fitbit front, I didn't. Gotothe the gym yesterday, which takes 30 minutes out of my walking, plus the lack of workout. I had to do some jogging in. Place to get to 10,000 steps. But Monday and today I was over 16,000.

Oh, SJ, that's funny because I also thought of taking my ex back to court if I got fired since I would not be able to pay child support.  :P  Aahh, well, it is better that I am employed.  The college tuition fees are high, as is the cost of living that we have chosen.  :(  DH and I have had just a few talks about scaling back for retirement.  We are at odds with each other as I hear him talk about wanting a Tesla.  :(  Uh, I don't think so, we have three children in college next year.  :O

It's amazing the opportunities that have opened up since we're all online these days. I'm such an oldie at this point that it's still all new to me.  I read a book, 703, about a woman who lost that much weight and she said the motivation started when her son bought her a computer. It became her chance to connect w/ the world because she was housebound and it gave her enough of a connection/motivation to lose the weight.  Who would have thought that would happen!
