Yep, I'm still being good. My ankle feels so much better but this is the point where I normally overdo when I warm up so I decided I'll play it safe. I'm still doing little exercises at home but nothing more weight bearing than push ups.  Ugh.  I'm such a baby about taking it easy. Don't get me wrong--I love to be lazy and lie on the couch but only on my terms.

Overdoing is the story of my life. I'm not sure why I haven't learned yet to slow down or stop. It's not that I don't know perfectly well what to do-I just don't do it for some reason or another.

I am going to go to the gym today and do a few miles on the eliptical and lift some weights. I must let a few blisters heal so I am making myself listen to the voice of reason. I can't go into a 20 mile long run with half the skin missing from my toes. My hope is that my new shoes will be ready to wear for my 20 miler and my feet will be totally healed. This week is a step back week (14-16 mile long run) so I am thinking I will wear my new shoes for half the run.

My son got me The Stick for my birthday and I tried it out this morning. I'll let you know how it works. If you have ever used The Stick, how do you think it compares to foam rolling?

Good morning! Although not a sunny one here - the torrential rain is coming in spurts. I had the best sleep I've had in months, but i had the weirdest dream about a guy I used to date...even though nothing in it made sense, it still was very real, and I woke up trying to figure out things like 'how did I get in his apartment if I gave the keys back?' So strange...Jean and Karla, good for you for being sensible...although I think our idea of resting is not all that normal either. I have to say that the Bosu workout, done without actually standing on the Bosu, kicks my butt...my thighs are still sore...I think it is in part because it moves so quickly from one thing to the next...lunging with weights is very controlled...lunging on the Bosu is rapid fire...anyway, I have to say that I like the challenge so I hope the instructor keeps it together for the next few weeks....I wrote my note to the Boston gym manager...so at least I took that step. There is a nearby facility that recently closed...they primarily had basketball courts, but have a great space and location...and I think closed for reasons unrelated to profit....anyway, we know the former manager, and I am trying to get him and my trainer to look into whether the owners of the property are interested in renting it....there is a strong need for the basketball courts, but part of it could be used for a weight area, and some cardio equipment. It would not support classes, so would be more of a 'muscle gym' like place, but could attract women for personal training. I love thinking about stuff that 'might' happen, but I don't always follow through well...and in this case, I've put the idea out there but need to see if the 'guys' will take any action because it can't b just my dream. On the one hand, it seems risky, but on the other hand, I bet any dream seems risky in the beginning...

Hey all... decided to take a mental health day today so I've not done much in the way of work.  Didn't sleep well and I'm starting to think that maybe I have a little virus that my body (shockingly) is fighting off.  Have had some tummy issues and not sleeping well.

DH has taken most of the day off so we can hang together and that's been nice.

No workout for me.

I have both foam roller and stick. My first choice is a massage but that only happens monthly!  I think a good foam roller is better, or a ball because you can use body weight.  I can't remember the last time I used my stick.   I'll refrain from making inappropriate comments...

We had that torrential rain yesterday.  I love a good rain storm as long as I don't have to be out in it.   I love the BOSU and miss teaching classes on it. Good luck in sorting out the whole gym thing.  Given how many gyms there, it shouldn't be so hard to find one that works!

Hope you feel better soon, GR. Good day to take a mental health day after what happened to Robin Williams. It's so sadly shocking and yet not.
