So excited Friday

I don't know why I'm so excited but it's beautiful out, I have brownies baking in the oven so I can bring them to the parkour gym where I'm going to help move and then do parkour. I have a few clients later and then home to shower and get ready to watch my daughter in her school play. As I've been saying, I walk my puppy endlessly and it helps w/ her energy but I still don't feel like I have control of the situation. I was walking her and ran into a neighbor who has the most amazing dog--she's known as super dog in the neighborhood because she's so well trained. Anyway, talking to him, he said the dog really takes me for a walk and she knows she's in charge. Ow, yeah, so true!  It's kind of me w/ my kids, too!  He said he'd be happy to work w/ us and the puppy so I'm just happy to have someone who knows what to do.  He's like the Dog Whisperer.

I did aerial silks yesterday and tried this move, which is all about the obliques and I'm feeling them today.

I can't get the fluid motion around w/ my feet in a straddle. Silks shows you all the limitations you have!

That is GREAT that you found a trainer to help you with Sophie!  And that aerial silks move looks like a killer on the abs.  The woman in the video makes it look so easy!

I am exhausted after 3 hours of dogtraining last night.  The good thing is that my dog (unbelieavably) passed the Canine Good Citizen test without me even training him.  :O  I was absolutely shocked.  Two different people walked him (socialization), and the trainer used him as the "example" for several training behaviors...and it is wonderful to see the effect he has on other people.  People are scared of his appearance/size, but they are amazed that he is so friendly so it breaks down barriers.  He has an extra special effect on people.  I should really get him therapy certified, and work in other public settings.

Work today, maybe yoga tonight.  I have to travel to get some supplies for my art class.

Yeah, my instructor made the move look so easy and when I tried it off the ground, I couldn't get my legs to do it.  Crazy hard.  As someone once said in an article about silks, there's strong and then there's circus strong.

Congrats on the dog training!  I need to take classes in that.  Does your area have dog visits to homes for dogs not certified? Ours does. They have ads out looking for well behaved dogs. They don't have to be certified but they need visits, etc. to make sure they have the right temperament.  The odd thing is my dog is so well behaved at home. It's when we go out that she's such an excitable puppy.  I feel like one of those moms who make excuses for their kids.

Jean...three words...America's Got Talent...DC mom vaults over wall, leaps to air to do silks, dismounts on skis, meanwhile, adorable dog dances on hind legs and vaults over Bosu...we will ALL vote for you!!! You can do it...imagine how you could embarrass your children? FSN, you have so many interests...artistic and compassionate...it probably would never pay enough but I think you would make a great 'recreation leader' at a facility for the elderly...you and the puppy....Karla, hope you are recovering and that your family is doing well. It is a perfect day here on the Cape...I ran two mikes on the road today...I am always way prouder of myself for running on the road than on the treadmill...I made a strawberry rhubarb pie for my brother...I made one earlier in the week for my trainer and he said it was the best pie he ever had...of course, I don't think he gets a lot of pie...but I make a lattice crust and they both look perfect...I will probably get a piece of this one so I can see for myself. I have more time to cook now, and I really enjoy it. I ate 'healthier' yesterday than any day in recent memory...My May 1 and the party is over plan...but I stayed up late watching basketball and I was too hungry to sleep...I got up and had a crescent roll with a little cheese on it...and finally fell asleep. I need a nap today because I want to watch hoops tonight and also get up for Zumba at 9:15 tomorrow. Hope everyone gets some sunshine this weekend!

LOL, being on America's Got Talent would not only embarass my kids but I'd probably be mortified! OTOH, I could wear this:

Good job on running two miles outside! I find running outside much harder than the treadmill.  LOL, I assume that was two miles and not two mikes!  I love strawberry rhubarb pie.  My friend makes it and I can never resist. That or crisp but I love the strawberry/rhubarb combination.
