Springlike Thursday

It's so odd that it's going to be warm today and there is still so much snow out!  Great dog walking weather.  I'm teaching a sports conditioing like class and will do what I can. I don't know if I've told you all that I've been having achilles pain and plantar issues so my feet are shot. Good thing I spend a good part of the winter w/ my feet immobilized in ski boots.  During ski season, I feel like I let everything else at home go and as I look around the house, I realize how much is piling up.  Good thing ski season is so short here!  What are you all up to these days?

The weather people are predicting possible 70 degrees here today and we still have snow on the ground. There is a high wind warning for our area and it is supposed to drop 25 degrees some time later this evening. So much for our spring-like warm up.

Jean, I can completely sympathize with the achilles pain.  I am having to be very careful with my Achilles and have spent the last 14 weeks just trying to gently condition my leg. I am thanking God I haven't had plantar issues. Almost everyone in my running group either has or has had plantar issues and they seem to continue on and on and on.

I probably won't get to exercise today because I am working late and we are expecting storms. I may try to get a good walk in but not sure if I will make it.

I don't know if I told you girls or not but my granddaughter has to have surgery on her spine again tomorrow. Her spinal cord tethered right above the point where they released it just a few weeks ago. We are all just sick for her. There is no choice but to have it done because the only other option is to not have it done and have her lose the ability to walk and have her spine twist into an S shape. This makes her 11th major surgery and she is just 3 years old.

If I don't make it by tomorrow, I hope everyone has a good weekend.

Jean, your kids and hubby can take care of things during ski season.  Reminds me of that meme that goes around occasionally... something about nobody every saying on their deathbeds that they wished they did more laundry.  You go girl. Cool

Karla, so sorry to hear about the baby.  Keep us posted and let us know she's doing.  I do think that girl is going to be one tough chick when she gets older.

Happy's mention yesterday about the bathrooms in Boston reminded me of a trip to San Fransisco.  That was first time I'd ever seen pay toilets.

My hair is done and all went well.  The stylist is nice and she did a good job.  She also lives practically across the street from the salon which I think will help keep her there.  I spent this morning working on two writing assignments.  I've got a massage in a couple hours and I'm very much looking forward to that.  Planning to do some yoga before I go.  I'm going out of town this weekend with OP to see his birth family and a few friends so if I don't make it here tomorrow, that's why.  I keep forgetting that I need to pack.  Oy...

It's mud, slush, snow, and ice here.  My dogs are tracking it in and it's driving us crazy to keep the floors clean!  Karla, your granddaughter is in my prayers.  My lungs are hurting today...not sure why, but a LOT of people have bronchitis.  I don't feel sick, so perhaps it is allergies.  Ok, time for vitamin C.  Teaching the dancing last night was so much fun!  I really like this friend AND she helps me with work because she is one of the top customers in my territory.  I feel so blessed that we have this dance connection!

Did anyone see the olympic skating last night.  I just love the competition.  I HATE when the skaters don't do their best, though.  But I LOVE when they do!  It's amazing to see the abilities of these young people!  So inspiring!

After dancing until 10:30PM last night, today is gonna be a rest day for me.  Make it a great one, everybody!

Good morning ladies!  I did a work out video last night.  Nothing like Dance with Julianne Hough to remind me how uncoordinated I am, but it was definitely a work out.  ODD left it behind, I am pretty sure she and a few friends bought it as a joke for a sleepover a few years back.  But, I slept amazingly well after doing it!

Not sure what I'll get to tonight, depends on when DH gets home, the kids get in bed, etc.  I'd love to get to the Y if he is home early enough.

Jean, the cleanse was really the end of a journey that I've been on to turn my health around for the last 2 years, to purge out all of the built up crap in me from years and years of living on Mt. Dew, pizza and chocolate, sort of a reset for my metabolism.  I am eating much healthier now and feel so much better compared to just a few years ago.  So now I will just go forward using all of the things I've learned.  I still have about 2 1/2 years, but I am looking forward to a much happier and healthier 40's compared to my 30's.

I have never seen pay toilets either!  Oohh.  Have I lived a sheltered life?  Dance with JH?  Sounds like FUN!  GR, hope the birth family visit goes well.  I often think of encouraging dh to seek out his birth family.  His birth mom has ignored his two prior communications, but I think he has regrets for not knowing her.  :(  OTOH, you don't know what is behind that "door," so perhaps it is better left shut.

Yeah, SF has a huge homeless population and I'm pretty sure that's why the toilets are pay.  I made DH use one so I could look in when the door opened.  Wink

Pay toilets are not everywhere? I remember them more from when I was a kid but I still see them occasionally esp. in tourist areas. It pays for the maintenance, and they usually are cleaner than free stalls. When we were in SF a few weeks ago I saw one of the green freestanding restrooms, look just like the ones in Spain. In Mexico and Spain its not uncommon to have an attendant at the entrance to a restroom in a public building charging something, usually they give you some toilet paper. The restrooms is the only good thing about a Starbucks on every corner here.

Karla, P&PT for your dgd. Jean, I agree that your dh and dd should take over housekeeping during ski season. Its not like you're laying around eating bon bons.

No exercise planned for today so far. I'm getting my teeth cleaned late morning then a bunch of errands. Maybe a walk later? Today is supposed to get to the mid-70s. No rain in sight...this is bad.
