It rained super hard all night long and it's still off and on right now. I have to work mid-day but not sure what else I'll be doing. It might be a good day to stay put.  I brought my niece to aerial silks yesterday. She had trouble w/ it (everyone does at first) but really enjoyed it. After she thanked me and said since her parents don't do things like that, she loves being able to do it. Then, she rethought it and said, "Not just my parents. No one else does things like that!"  I finally was able to think enough during a drop move to point my toes and straighten my legs and what a difference it makes! They've been tellling me that but when you're kind of free falling w/ silks around, it's hard to think.  It was just all so smooth, un-jerky, and easy!  I'm just not used to paying attention to my toes!

"Point your toes."  OMG...reminds me of ballet class...30 years ago.  :P  It's snowing in Chicago...this weather is CRAZY!  I am feeling the stress come over me as my courtdate, and associcated actions, approach.  Ugh.  I have work today, alot of administrative work, legal review, and MAYBE linedancing tonight.  I, now feeling guilty, did NOT go to dogtraining.  I just didn't feel like it.

What are your plans for the weekend?  I have lawyer meeting, yoga, plant pots, clean, finalize Maui activities, administrative work, clean car, and relax on my agenda, although I have a feeling that legal work is the only absolutely HAVE TO DO activity, and I have a feeling that it will consume me for the weekend.  Gee, maybe I will make a snowman, too, as I watch the snow come down.  :)

Three things I am grateful for...1. being able to see all of the beautiful things there are to see (those tv commercials showing people who lost their sight has made me think about it), 2.  the wherewithall to experience wonderful vacations, and 3.  my job which allows me the ability to meet SO MANY NEW PEOPLE, some of which make me laugh (at yesterday's work meeting, I was laughing so much, that I was snorting!)

Jean, I think it's awesome that you're taking your niece to classes.  How wonderful to expose her to such things.

FSN, try and remember the difference between "have to", "need to", and "want to."

I'm going to have a slow day, I think.  I've got my client at 11 a.m. and not much freelance work to do today.  That is just as well as I've been trying to take it easy to kick the last of the pneumonia.  Probably doing some cardio.  Going out with friends tonight to a teppanyaki place.  Should be a fun weekend.

I would love to try a silks class but I think I would be scared to death. lol

Fresh, I hope you can get that lawyer situation worked out. What a pita!

Gym, keep taking it easy until that pneumonia is totally gone. That stuff can rear it's head back up just when you think you have beat it.

Hubby is on vacation this weekend and we are working on built in cabinets in my office. If I survive, I plan to go sit with my granddaughters for a while so their parents can go out for a few hours. My gd got home from the hospital and she looks a bit rough but hopefully with some tlc will be back on her feet soon.

I am also planning a road run for Saturday or Sunday. I'm going to stick to 5 or 6 miles and see how I do. So far my leg feels great and I woke up pain free so I am thinking it is healed.

Starting next week I am going to sign up with a Nike trainer to get a running program for a 10K I am doing in July. My daughter is doing the beginner 5K and it is a great program. Her workouts are very doable and varied. It has her doing things like walking, cycling, lifting weights and yoga along with her running. She has been doing it for 5 weeks and has lost 7 pounds and is almost able to run 3 miles. By the end of her 8 weeks she will be able to complete 3.1 confidently. She is so encouraged by the program and her success.  My sister signed us up for an advanced 5K plan and it was brutal. This time around I am chosing the workout for us and I am planning on doing the moderate version since we will be running in the heat of the summer. I can't wait to see it!

I don't know if you can see this or not but here is a pic of my beautiful granddaughter that has been through heck. Her eyes are still somewhat odd looking but we are hoping that will straighten up now that they have the brain shunt fixed.

And her new hair cut:

Don't forget "get to"! When I teach class, I've said, "We have to do the other side...oh NO, wait, we GET to do the other side!"

I don't cramp w/ any other workouts but pointing the toes make my arch and toes cramp.  Who knew toes could cramp!

Karla, such a cutie...she has endured so much! FSN, I think Relax should be written after every other line on your list...lawyer, relax, make dinner, relax...give yourself as much time. As you are giving everything else. Jean, you must be 'the fun Aunt'! (Or the crazy one....). GR, my mother would often correct herself after she said 'I have to' and change it to 'I want to' ..perspective is important...I have made it to my first destination - the hotel we are staying at tonight in Rhode Island....I came on the train and was met by a shuttle bus...we'll see how. Many types of transport I take in the next ten days...I might not have mentioned that after this weekend's extravaganza,, I am flying to North Carolina next week for one of my cousin's kids college graduation....I managed a 2 mile run at the gym...26:23...other than some wedding dancing, I am not working out this weekend....hope somebody besides GR gets some sunshine...because FSN, snow on. May 16 is ridiculous....

I did a Quality class back in the 80's where we were told, Choose to, Want to, Like it Love it.  In other words if you choose to do something, you must want to. If you want to, the you should like it. And, if you like it, make the effort to love it.  Because ultimately, it is a choice. And choosing not to is also a choice. We don't HAVE to do anything.

Have fun on your Planes, Trains and Automobile weekend!
