Stormy Monday

The weather horns woke me up at 2AM this morning with a tornado warning.  I'm a little groggy from that, as well as all of the activities related to mom's move.  We purchased a microwave, desk (that I had to put together), smal kitchen table, bed, and loveseat.  SJ, using your visual cues recommendation, I also created a floor plan for the furniture, both old and new, for her (and the movers) to see, as well as a list of calls that she should expect in getting her furniture delivered/shipped.  I also have a support group meeting on Tuesday, hopefully if work doesn't get in the way.

Work today, I may have to drive dd to the bus tonight.

Looks like you both were posting at the exact same time!

Jean, please don't get stuck on the silks. Although, that would be the best reason to get manhandled by firefighters.  Cool

FSN, I'm envious of your storms.  We are waiting for the  monsoons to begin.  I'm ready for some weather!  Sounds like things are coming along with your mom's move.  Kudos to you for being so patient and working *with* her rather than against her.  I admire that very much.

I had a nice weekend.  It was quiet with lots of doggie time (see FB pictures).  I spent Friday evening with best friend and we had a lovely time.

I've got my client this morning and have urgent resume work to do.  Planning to do a strength workout this afternoon.

Woohoo what a weekend! I am physically exhausted and going to take a rest day today to recoup. The birthday party was a home run. We had it in the park and despite 90 degree heat with high humidity, it was a total blast. As an after thought, my daughter threw in small squirt guns for everyone and even the old family members were having a ball squirting them. lol

I ran two very hot and hard runs, one on Saturday and one on Sunday. Every inch of my body feels it today. The best news of all is I have no heat related blisters on my feet!

Since I am taking today off, my running stats for the month of June are: Total of 127.2 miles with an average pace of 9:33 per mile. I spent 20:14:57 hours running during the month and burned 12,919 calories. I set three PRs: Mile: 7:30; 10K 55:24; Half-Marathon: 2:05:17

SJ, I wanted to comment that you are right about my fanancial situation with my husband. He doesn't know a thing about our bills and won't take the time to learn. He says he doesn't want to be bothered. I have often worried that if something happens to me he won't know what to do so I have given my oldest son our financial info so he can help should he need to step in.

Karla, look at those eyes! I see heartbreak in a lot of girls' future....glad to hear your son is prepared to step in in the very far future...I tried to convince my dad to share his information with me, and he told me he was planning to outlive his children...so I guess I will either figure it out later or he'll have to figure out mine...Jean, I think you could just rappel down the silks...but cute firemen sound good too...cats in trees, wild middle age ladies on silks...all in a day's work...FSN, tornado horns sound like they would be frightening...I don't think we have such a thing here. I saw a great play Saturday night 'Freud's Last Session' which was an imaginary meeting between Freud and C.S. Lewis (Chronicles of Narnia) set on the night England declared war on Germany in World War II. The central theme was about the existence of God, but the 'third character' was the radio, where they lessened to Prime Minister Chamberlein and King George's speeches - which were actual recordings of the speeches...at one point, an air raid siren went off..and I wondered if we have those still....I am reading a lot about both the World Wars in preparation for my trip to France, and I realize how little I actually know about them...there is a lot to know...but mostly I wonder if the world has changed much in its brutality and selfishness from then. And also I wonder how much people were paying attention in the. Time leading up to the wars, and whether we are just as 'head in the sand' now...more philosophy from the bus. GR, glad you had fun with friends and dogs...

FSN, I hope the group support is helpful.  Just knowing you're not alone could be good.  I hate putting furniture together.  We bought my son a lot of IKEA stuff for his apartment and that's going to take forever to assemble. There is a lot about IKEA I like but you pay for it in the headache of assembly.

GR, the firefighter saving sounds appealing. Maybe I'll stick around the roof area!  Or, maybe the parkour guys would pop in to rescue me.

Karla, I can't even remember what you posted, the picture of your grandson takes over!  So cute.

SJ, how long is this trip again?  Who is going with you? It sounds like it's going to be so much fun.

Jean, the trip is for 10 days. My brother, his wife, his two sons, one of his close friends, the friend's wife, and the friend's brother are going, and we hope too meet up with another of his classmates and his family in Paris. I think it will be amazing...I went to the gym today...I wore a new lovely fuschia bathing suit..which stained the white gym towels pink...who makes a non colorfast bathing suit? I bought it in March at Marshall's, and it wasn't hugely expensive, but I am annoyed....and I really love how it looks... Guess it will be for sunbathing only... I own tons of bathing suits..some I wear strictly for lap swimming, some for sitting at the gym pool, some for the beach, some for the more private pool at the Cape...I don't know exactly how I decide what belongs where, but I definitely show more skin at the Cape...and lap suits have no fancy metal r flounces, and stand up to movement...and are usually older because hardly anyone sees them. The runny suit is perfect looking for the gym pool...but I can't be ruining their towels...maybe I will buy a pink towel...I biked for 10 minutes, lifting for chest/back, abs, ran 2 miles in 28:02. I went in the pool, but I wouldn't call it swimming...

That'll be a fun group to travel with!  Are you renting a house/apartment? I'd love to do that.

My newest suit comes from Athleta and it didn't run. Well, the top came from Athleta. I couldn't get over the price of the bottoms and found a perfectly matching bottom (it's my first tankini) from Costco.
