Time-out Tuesday
Tue, 03-04-2014 - 10:55am

I am down for the count right now with a nasty head cold. I may have to go to the doctor if this thing doesn't break up in another day or two. Even my kids, who rarely notice when I get sick, have mentioned how swollen my eyes, etc look. Ugg.

It is currenly 12 degrees but things are looking up. The sun is out and it may get near freezing today. They are calling for temps in the 50's by the weekend so I maybe this latest round of ice and snow won't be on the ground long enough to turn nasty and black.

There isn't a whole lot else happening in my life today. What about you?

Karla, YUCK on the cold.  I HATE being sick!  Chicken soup!  GR, congrats on the new job.  I am amazed at how you just turned the corner on jobs!  That is so wonderful and you are an inspiration for adventuring into new activities!  ELC, I think it's great that you are doing what is right for YOU.  I am the same way.  I am not someone that works out with other people.  I work out for me, and not for any social gratification.  I prefer being by myself.  Working out is personal to me. :)

Elc, that's not a sad fact at all.  It's being aware of your tendencies and being honest with yourself about it.  Laughing

Karla, I hope that you start feeling better soon. I think I read that chicken soup was scientifically proven to help a cold, maybe you can eat some.

GR, let us know how you like the movie. It has a lot of good actors.

Yesterday I did an hour at the velodrome. This morning I took a tour of the closest YMCA. I used to swim there when I was pregnant with both of my kids, so 28+ years ago. The pool and the locker room are exactly the same...at least they're not worse LOL. But the weight room and cardio rooms are new within the last 2 years. They also offer some group classes although not much at the times when I would likely be going. I didn't join on the spot because my friend was encouraging me to join her Y which is larger and nicer, but farther and twice as expensive. So for the sake of due diligence I was going to check hers out but after I returned home and thought about it, I think that I should just join the closer one. Its 2 miles/8 minutes by car away. The sad fact about me is that if it seems like too much hassle to go there I probably won't use it. And my exercise needs are pretty basic. So, not sure if I'll get back over there to sign up today or try to do it tomorrow.

Karla, I'm sorry you're so sick!  Please take care of yourself.  If you need a serial to watch, I highly recommend House of Cards.  It is fantastic.

I did cardio this morning and I have a massage in an hour.  Afterward, going to OP's and then we're meeting friends to see NonStop tonight.

Got my first jobs with the resume place yesterday.  Not sure if/how much I like it but the variety is definitely nice.  And it feels like plagiarism city because I'm taking existing content and re-doing it but given how often I have reword things so it's not plagiarism, it's kind of nice.  Tell me what to write and I'm good.  Tell me to pitch ideas ... I got nothing.  Tongue Out
