Tired on Tuesday

The pool noodle unloading was much more strenuous than I thought it would be.  On top of that, the truck arrived 90 minutes early so OP was frantically texting us (and everyone else who was coming) to come over.  It was literally an entire container.  It wouldn't have been so bad except that it was about 80 yesterday and I was working in the sun.  I'm feeling rather sore today and am going to forgo the workout.  For those of you who are FB friends, there are some photos of the process there.

Taking today as a rest day.  Yesterday was heck on my allergies too so I've got a bit of a "hangover" from that.

FSN, treatment of low IgG is with a shot called pneumovac.  You would get that once a year.  Treatment for high IgE is Xolair therapy, which is a shot you get every two weeks or once a month.  The pneumovac shot got my IgG levels to normal.  I am still getting the Xolair therapy every two weeks.  I highly recommend seeing an allergist or immunologist.

The rest of you ladies...  stay warm!  And Arryl, good luck on your cleanse.  I think I would knock over a liquor store before all was said and done.  Wink

Karla, I took prednisone once for a horrendous case of poison ivy. I was also taking Benadryl so I was hyped up and sleepy...but what I remember the most was how hungry I was...walking around the city looking for a place that served mashed potatoes..it is a wonder drug but tough side affects. Aryl, I don't think I could do a cleanse...food is just too much part of my pleasure. I will be interested in your results. Gymrat, the pool noodles sounds so interesting...will it have a permanent installation somewhere? Or will 10000 underprivileged kids get pool noodles? FSN, the prep for a colonoscopy is hard, but the actual event is really nothing. Cath, I started working out when I was your age...life begins here...is Jean skiing again? At least one of us loves this winter weather! I planned to work late tonight and not go to the gym (unlike every other Tuesday lately when I just don't go). I do have a cold so I am on the couch with my Kleenex and the Olympics. I taped the skating because I really love it and I can fast forward through the commercials, bed soon...

Speaking of tooth problems, I have a growing feeling that I am going to neroom root canal on the tooth that just got crowned.  Not only does that tooth hurt, but my jaws just ACHE.  :(. Arryl, I empathize on the bloating.  I did the quantum wellness cleanse where I gave dairy, animal meat, gluten, sugar, and caffeine for three weeks.  On the third day, UGH.  But, day day 7, I felt so much better...more energy, cleared up complexion, and a nice side effect of weight loss.  Karla, I was prescribed prednisone with antibiotics when I had pneumonia.  Because I was so sick, I didn't notice any effects since I wala already so exhausted.  Cath, re: the big M, I have to say that a super small dose of estradiol (plant based estrogen from a compound pharmacy) has made a HUGE difference in my "pep-factor."  GR, I just have too much on my plate to look into the iGg in the short term.  I just realized that I am now at the age for a colonoscopy.  Eegads.  Where did the time go?  I can't wait for Linedancing tomorrow night.  Dancing brings me so much joy!

Karla, Dr. Stabby here to answer your questions...  Yes, I feel very "speedy" on Prednisone too.  Kind of agitated, amped up and if I'm on it for more than a couple of days, I start to become extremely low tolerance.  They probably gave it to you because prednisone is amazing at reducing inflammation (which is why it's so often combined with antibiotics).  Unfortunately, there's a cost involved.  How long do you have to be on it?

And yes, I will absolutely post pictures of the noodle project when it's done.  There will be a test build here in the near future and then again at the regional event in May.

HI ladies, just checking in,  I have been sketchily reading some posts on and off but too stressed of mind to write anything.  Anyway, today i feel like my back is finally on the mend for sure.  The knee as well.  I have come to the following conclusions:

1) at 47 my body is really starting to change (your basic aging and the big M also doing a number on my metabolism)

2) i have to exercise every day, ideally at least 20-30 min, in order to keep everything "up and running".  That would include brisk walking or stationary bike-( am working on getting one of those, any thoughts?) and some weights and/or pilates

3) stretching my back with various yoga poses is vital and I deserve this.  Where would we be without our backs?

4) I feel much better when I am at least "mostly" vegan so I am going to resume that status.

I am not obsessed with my weight but I am also not ready to go out and buy new clothes.  I feel that I am right at that poiint in my life of either accepting my new self including dumpy midsection or working hard to resume a more youthful figure and better working parts.  It is a difficult place to be for I am chronically lazy and unathletic.  I have to work hard to remind myself to do healthy things until they become second nature again.

Today we walked the dogs for about 20 minutes and got brisker as time went on.  Did some yoga and pilates last night.  It is my first day back to some kind of pilates since my back went out.  It felt good.

I have to get through a hard week with some major life stress culminating on Friday, and then next week i think i will be in a better state of mind.  In the meantime, i will continue to push myself to move, and eat more healthy, and laugh and just accept life's ups and downs.   I have a Major Headache on my left temple.  I have been getting them a lot lately, I suspect the dry air with the heat and winter's cold PA temps. Lentil/chickpea soup for dinner, yummo!

Karla, I have some lingering hemorroids from the last little bundle of joy of mine, so far it hasn't bothered them or caused a flare up at all.

Gym, I saw the pool noodle unloading pics. I want to see the finished version. Curiousity is killing me. Fresh, you have so much stress in your life. How is the new job treating you? Arryl, I am scared of colon cleanses. I can only imagine what it would be like on the hemorrhoids. lol Sj, great job on the running. I did 4 miles on the tread yesterday and it was more of a mental challenge than a physical one. Every mile on the tread feels like two on the road.

For those of you who have taken Prednisone, what were your side affects? I have been on it for 4 days now and I can't sleep. I feel like I am on speed. My mind races constantly and I feel nervous. I am taking it for my tooth issues (and I have never heard of anyone ever taking steroids for teeth issues!) and while my teeth don't feel much better, my foot/achilles sure does.

And we finally have some 40 and 50 degrees days coming up. I will be so glad to get rid of the ice that seems to be on everything around here. I have been following the news on the storm about to hit Atlanta again and all I can say is that I am glad it is them and not my area.

I have not done this cleanse before.  I can completely understand your view, and I have to say that in the past I have always been pretty leary of stuff like this also.  But it is the one my health coach uses with all of her clients and I trust her, having known her for several years, know her training, and knowing how much she has helped me change my lifestyle and health over the last 2 years.

here is the description from the website, it'll probably explain it better than me.

Arryl, have you done this cleanse before?  What exactly is it supposed to do?  Full disclosure - I am in general anti-cleanse because I think it's more of a marketing thing than anyone else but I am also open-minded.  Cool

Day 2 of the cleanse and I am completely bloated and feeling blah!! It probably doesn't help that DH fell asleep on the couch while I was at the grocery store last night, before the kids actually went to sleep, so they had the run of the house while I was gone and it took me til almost 10 to get them to sleep, the 4 year old was also up at 4, I am one tired, bloated, started to be cranky, lady... FSN, no, its not the lemon, honey & cayenne pepper one, thank goodness! LOL! its a colon cleanse from www.blessedherbs.com I Have been working with a health coach for about 18 months and this is the last portion of it before I go off completely on my own with all the new things I have learned and the lifestyle changes i have made over the last 2 years. I don't think I am doing cross fit today, its raining off and on and 35 degrees, so I'll run errands instead on lunch and look at doing some yoga or something this evening after the kids go to bed.
