a very dark Monday

OMG, it is pitch black outside because ot he daylight savings time difference!  I took a sleeping pill last night to go to bed early because I have far too much to do today.  I have to get to some of my customers super early.  It turns out that someone from my new company is having a dinner program on the same night of mine AT the same restaurant!  OMG.  Talk about competition.  UGH.  Since it's a new company, noone communicated, but what am I to do?!

The weekend was so productive.  My office had looked like a tornado had gone through it, so I cleaned it, along with getting a huge garbage bag of old papers that I got rid of.  I try to purge old papers once a year.  As I was going through the papers, I found an entire subject matter of paperwork to give to my new lawyer.  I am preparing for our courtdate...still...for the lawyers and judges, it's just another day at the office, but for me, it is my life, and, at that, they all make a split decision that has a major impact on my life. And hindsight is 20/20, but I should have been more controlling with regards to my previous lawyers' actions.

I went to a FABULOUS west coast swing dance class yesterday.  I got paired up with an individual who knew about 12 advanced WCS variations, so it was SO MUCH FUN!  I also met and learned two sets of couples instructors who gave me information on other dance groups, so I may check all of that out.   They also told me of a store that has good ballroom dance shoes, so I will have to go check that out, too.  I love dance!  I also "made a date" with a girlfriend to do one of those paint-a-picture art groupons, and we agreed to meet up with our husbands afterwords for dinner.  And I went linedancing Friday night, but the dj (who has worked at this venue for over 20 years) was fired and the really good dance instructor quit in objection to him being fired, and the new dj had NO EXPERIENCE,   It was not very fun, and it seemed like all of the "regulars" were not there, so I am thinking that the regulars are boycotting the place.  :(  I may have to find somewhere new to go.    Aaaahhhh, the only constant is change!

This is one of those times of year I am super glad we don't do Daylight Savings Time.  Although, because of friends and family across the country, I still have to keep track of what time zones are where.  :)

FSN, that's awesome about your dancing but bummer over the instructor and DJ.  But like you said, the only constant is change.

I'm at home all day today.  Working and writing.  Not sure if I'll work out or not.

Fresh, I had trouble getting out of bed this morning because it was dark. It is going to take me a few days to adjust to this. I think if it were warm out it might be easier because in the evenings I can get out more.

I had a PR this weekend while running. With my injury and all I have been taking it very easy for months now and haven't really pushed myself very much.Yesterday I went out with the group to run 4 miles and I was feeling really good and before I knew it, I was giving it my all and got one of my fastest times in the last few decades for 5K. I also got my personal best for a mile split (8:15). I haven't been able to get close to an 8 something split for a mile in some time now so I am really feeling completely stoked.

My sister and I were looking for a half marathon to run on our 50th birthday but the best we can find is a 10K in Peachtree City, GA or Columbus, OH.  Either one would require a long drive so we are considering treating ourselves to a couple days in a nice hotel, etc.

It is going to be in the 60s today and tomorrow then snow on Wednesday so I am going to be outside jogging for the next few days.

Wow,this thread title is ominous...I was out of synch yesterday...by the time I got up, it was too late to swim. Well, of course, it is that I chose not to swim...but I did have a massage. I am going to Florida Thursday, although we are supposed to get snow...and it is forecast for the 60's, not the 80's. But better than here....Karla, what's great 50th birthday plan. And congrats on the PR. Gymrat, stay home days are nice. I keep thinking I'll give myself one, and then I don't. FSN,can you and your co-worker mingle for drinks or dessert? Otherwise, does it matter? Will your clients know who the other group is? Typical gym Monday - quick 2 minute bike warmup, lifting for chest/back, abs, ran 2 miles in 26:59.

What happened? I always look forward to reading your words of wisdom.  I was having problems earlier today. I hope that isn't affecting you.

Jean & SJ, are they iVillage related problems or something else?
