It was so beautiful this weekend, in the 70s, and today, we expect some snow.  :O  I had the most wonderful weekend with my daughter and mother.  It felt indulgent because I enjoyed it so much!  There were so many "moments" that I can just smile about.  I feel so lucky...and I know that I need to bask in this happiness, because you never know what is "around the corner!"  Anyways, I took my mom and daughter to a formal event where we just had an enjoyable time.  Last night, since I had the house to myself, I painted a picture.

Back to reality - work today, follow-up with legal stuff and send in my daughter's taxes (yes, I did her taxes so that she didn't have to hand them over to her dad who gets overly intrusive.)  It's probably a rest day since tomorrow I will do yoga (and maybe linedancing?), and I hope to teach my gf llinedancing on Wednesday evening.  We shall see.

SJ, I think the wonderful "send-off" you got at work speaks volumes about your integrity and character...people like to do nice things for nice people, and they certainly did that.  The saying, "you get what you give" seems to be at play here.  Congratulations on maintaining your integrity at work...not everyone can do that!  Karla, congratulations on the 10 mile accomplishment in reallly hot weather (for running.)  That's awesome!  I imagined Jean is eating something really delicious and unusual, enjoying times with her daughter.  And Gymrat, are you quitely contemplating your next article to write?  I love your views on issues...witty and funny, but real.  Is anyone else lurking?  What are you planning for springtime festivities?

Happy Passover.  :D

FSN, I am always thinking about what to write.  Cool  Glad you got a chance to paint.  OP always finds it so calming.

Karla, how's the baby?

SJ, tell us about your first day at not-work!

If Jean's FB posts are any indication, it sounds like they are eating their way through New York!  It's making me hungry!

I'm doing freelance tasks this morning and I've got my client this afternoon.  There are several things I need to do around the house as well.  I am starting to feel human again.  I got a good amount of sleep last night and yesterday, DH and I kept the shades pulled and pretended the world wasn't out there.  It was an extremely social four days and on top of a sleep deficit, I was getting a little stabby.  I left OP's birthday party Saturday night even though the party was in full swing because I was just DONE.  I even left DH there knowing someone would probably bring him home (and someone did).  I don't have any social plans until Thursday (Lorde concert with best friend) and I'm going to relish that.  DH is also out of town this weekend so I'm kinda looking forward to that too.

I have some incredible people in my life but I think at heart, I'm an introvert and there comes a point when talking to people is exhausting.

I draw strength from knowing that you can just leave a party in full swing because you are "done."  I get that way, too.  Good for you!  I like that you take care of yourself and know your limits.  I have been doing that more, too, and dh still gets annoyed with me, but he is an extrovert.  I did not go to see his son play the guitar at the house of blues last night because after six hours of driving, running errands for my mom and daughter, and having to prepare for a hectic work week, I knew that I couldn't be social with a huge crowd last night, stay downtown, and then drive two more hours back to work.  "Just say NO."

HI Everybody. It was 84 degrees yesterday and we are expecting a possible 1 inch of wet snow is grassy areas late tonight. Just crazy!

My granddaughter is back home and doing better. The neurosurgeon told us this is totally normal for children in her condition and if we can just get through the next year or two she may never have another problem.

My older daughter went jogging with me this morning and it was so nice to have her with me. Today was her 5th day out running and I stayed with her as far as she could go. It has been fun to have someone to talk to about running.

Gym, I find it hard to believe you are an introvert. It seems like you are always at parties and having fun.

Fresh, I had no idea you were an artist. I'd love to see your paintings!

Oh, Karla, I can't imagine the stress you and your family are under with your gd's health.  Positive prayers your way!  That is so nice to have a daughter to do things with, yes?  It's wonderful when they are adults!  It's been snowing all day here, but luckily, nothing is "sticking."  I feel badlly for the catepillars and worms that are out, now freezing.  :(  There is a cardinal that has been sitting by our bird feeder for the last 24 hours.  It is so beautiful to see the yellow finches, cardinals, robins, orioles, ducks, geese, and morning doves.

That is positive news from the neurosurgeon.  It may be helpful to take the long view as much as you can.

I would have argued at one time that I wasn't an introvert but I think I really am.  I love interactions but I also reach a point where it exhausts me.  I also find that if I limit it more than I have recently, those times are more enjoyable.

FSN, glad you had a great weekend with your mom and daughter. Karla, glad you are getting positive news on your granddaughter, and your daughter is running with you. Your family sounds terrific and supportive. Gymrat, glad you had fun and left the party when you were ready. Jean, I bet NYC is awesome! I tried to post yesterday but it went to cyberspace....we had the most perfect weather on Saturday and yesterday was nice too. Today was warm and windy, in preparation for cold weather on its way. So far, I love retirement....I went to Zumba Saturday, swam 100 laps yesterday, and today went to Pilates, 20 minute bike warmup, lifted for chest and back, ran 1.5 miles in 20:44. I also walked an hour on Saturday, 40 minutes yesterday, and an hour today. When I walked to work, I didn't count it, but now I am going to have to make an effort to walk, I am going to log it. I am definitely an introvert, but I am learning how to be better in social situations. My sister hosted a shower for our future sister in law last week, and I wasn't nervous first...and my brother told me he heard I was the star of the shower...that the bride's friends told him how much fun I was...
