Eegads...no coffee or food this morning.  I have blood tests this morning.  I think I had angina last week after swimming a 100 metre sprint -  butterflly, backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle.  I have always done that as fast as I can after laps, and I went really fast!  It was scarey.  I suspect the doctor may send me for a stress test and possible EKG?  I dunno.  When I got out of breath while linedancing last night, I got a bit worried, but not worried enough to stop.  :P

Work today, possibly more linedancing tonight.  It's a very low level cardio workout that I enjoy!

Jean, are you still doing silks with your daughter?  Karla, what is on your running agenda and how is your husband's injury?  GR, what is your latest writing project?  SJ, can you beat your 23,000 steps?  What?!  How many miles does that equate to?

Make it a great day, everyone!

My computer was down yesterday so I couldn't get on.  Karla, I loved seeing the picture of you running on the beach.  I have so many friends at the beach right now--makes me crave it.  My workouts sounds kind of crazy but they're really not as hard as they sounds. It's one of those things when the instructor tells us we're going to do something and I laugh to myself, like there is NO way I can do that. But, when I do it, I realize how easy it really is and it's all in my head.  GR, welcome back from Vegas.  Sounds like you had an amazing time.  FSN, did I miss the angina thing?  What happened?

My daughter wants to do silks tonight so I'll take her. I'm not sure if I'll do silks or pakour. There has been a lot of new people in class and they're not in great shape so the classes have been toned down some.  It's not a good thing when I'm the strongest in the class!

Fresh, the angina sounds really scary. Good thing you are up on it though because early detection of heart issues can save your life. My husband's rib is healing slowly but at least it's getting better not worse. He couldn't do much walking at the beach so it wasn't as fun for him as it was for me.

SJ-I am loving your trip reports. I would love to be in your shoes right now. By the way, how is your foot today?

I have foot skinjuries galore. The beach always tears my feet up even though I try to prevent problems with beach shoes and sandals but I have so many skinned up places and blisters it is unreal. I don't think there is any way to prevent it since I spend 10 hours a day roaming around the beach and in and out of the water. I ran 6.7 miles this morning and my body felt great but my feet are angry at me. lol I've hit 100 miles for the month this morning so this is going to be a really high mileage month for me. I know I should take a few days to let my feet heal and I might do that if I can talk myself into it.

I signed up to run a 5K next month that will be my first race as a 50 year old. It will be interesting to see how I compare to other 50 year olds now. One of my friends on another site told me to check out the website for Masters Competitors and I am very pleased to see that I am very close and even below some for most of the distances. I still can't believe I have this enthusiasm for running. I've decided that when I am done running I might return to Martial Arts. Funny that I let go of Tae-kwon-do from the constant injuries and suddenly I'm back to constant injuries with running. Although blisters are much easier to heal from than broken fingers....lol

FSN, let us know what the doc says.  Heart stuff is nothing to mess around with.  My DH has had three heart surgeries to correct an issue he was born with.  That being said, an occasional flutter can be normal for a healthy person.

Jean, I love that your kids are going with you to silks and parkour.  Isn't your son teaching parkour?

Karla, I too love the photo of you running on the beach.  It looks like a photo for a vacation or possibly a feminine wash.  Laughing

FSN, you asked about my latest project.  I just got an ongoing job for credited articles about being a personal trainer (as opposed to "How to lose ten pounds in 4 minutes".... OY.  I just cannot write that type of thing.)  My first piece is due Monday.  Meanwhile, the resume writing work continues.

Rest day for me.  We are having dangerously hot temperatures here right now.  110 or so today and tomorrow.  We just hunker down and scurry from air conditioned place to air conditioned place.  I've got my client this afternoon in addition to freelance work.

Oh ick Gym on the temperatures. We had a few days of those dangerous hot temps last summer and it was miserable. So far this year we have only had 2 days that I can think of at 100 (ha-one of which I ran 13.3 miles!)

And I seriously laughed over the feminine wash comment!! :-o

Bon soir. This is our last night in Paris. Tomorrow we head to Verdun and the World War I part of our trip. We road the Metro today and got on a boat ride of the Seine at Le Pont Neuf...the oldest bridge in Paris, but called 'theNew Bridge'. I split of from the group this afternoon, partially to rest a little, partially to have some alone time. I had my nails done at a salon which was like Boston...the workers were all Vietnamese. While I was there, there were tons of police sirens, and by eavesdropping on other patrons, I learned that a pro Palestinian demonstration was scheduled for. Tonight. I was pretty proud of my French to figure this out, but the people we are traveling with registered with the State department and they got a warning email. The demonstration is two blocks from our hotel, but we are not going. Dinner tonight started to go the way of last night, but tonight I spoke up and came back to the hotel where I had the soup I've needed since Saturday. I finally feel ok....I am now eating potato chips....I think I need the salt. I hope bailing on the indecisiveness does not cause problems, but I was really on the edge. One of my pet peeves is when someone has gone to the trouble to get Directions(me) and others think there is a better way, without actually knowing what it is. We spend a lot of time discussing, and some time lost....but i knew this would happen, so I keep my annoyance to myself (except here). I do feel like I am watching World War III start...and when you look at the number of people killed in the first two wars , it is staggering....Karla, 11,000 steps today, but my foot is OK. Take care of yours! Jean, I refuse to believe your workouts aren't hard....GR, send me. That 10 pounds in 4 minutes diet....FSN, try swimming slow and steady...you don't need to race!

LOL, Karla, I have the feeling injuries will floow you in whatever you do because you go for things w/ such gusto and don't hold back (Honestly I've never used the word "gusto" in real life but it seems appropriate).  When most people take up running, they stick w/ 2-3 miles, not the high fast miles you do!

Gr, stay cool!  They always say here it's not the heat, it's the humidity but for you, it's the heat! And, that feminine wash thing made me laugh--it really did look like that.

Sj, I love that ou're aseeing the country up close and personal, even the demonstrations. Thanks for checking in!
