WYSIWYG Friday

I couldn't resist the title since I keep seeing the word when I post.  I love that acronym, kind of a good way to be overall.  Moving on, post ski season. I'm going to parkour today for the first time in a couple of months. I hope I can keep up!  And, I have to plan what my workouts will be now.  Anyone have fun plans for the weekend? This will be my first weekend home since the beginning of December. I think I want to convert a bedroom to a workout room. Wish me luck!

Good luck!  But you are such an overachiever, that you will do ANYTHING you put your mind to!  WYSIWYG...wow...I worked at Microsoft when that acronym was first invented...I used to "market the term" to my customers.  LOL.  That was a LONG time ago!

Work, taxes, an art class, yoga, cleaning...that's my agenda for the weekend.  DH has been sick since the middle of his vacation.  He is so crabby.  :(  In fact, he has been really crabby for quite some time, now, and I'm at a loss since happiness is personal, and I now understand that happiness is a choice we make each day.  He does not seem to choose happiness.  :(  I know that I complain a lot, but overall, I think I am happy, pleasant?  Perhaps not.  The slomo llink I posted (thanks to ELC's post) is making me rethink some things.

I might do a yoga class tonight.  Maybe not.,  I will see how the day goes.  Three things I am thankful for are the internet (how wonderful that we can all communicate and not feel so alone...it brings the outside in at our convenience), people that I connect with (I just got some texts from some friends I haven't seen in a long time), and dogtraining (there is a whole community of people I have met through dogtraining that are just good people making their way through life.)  Make it a great weekend, everyone!

That term brings back memories for me too!

Jean, good luck with the parkour class and the workout bedroom.  I've got a bedroom that's been converted to a gym if you need any suggestions or advice.

FSN, your hubby might be a bit like me (well... like I used to be before being sick was an everyday state of being).  I am awful at being sick and the longer it goes on, the crabbier I get.  If he's not improving at all, it's time to see a doctor.

Lots of work to do today plus my appointment with the ENT to check out how the last few weeks of the special nasal rinse has gone.  I think it did some good but my gut feeling is still that I'm going to need surgery to get into all the nooks and crannies.  Spending the weekend at OP's.

That's funny because "overachiever" might be the last word I'd ever use to describe myself.  But, like the slomo video you shared, I do what I want to do and not what society says I should. No fancy house, no fancy cars, no fancy clothes. But, I love playing!

Did you find anything new and different for a workout room?  It's a small bedroom. My immediate thought is to install a pull up bar so I can hang silks and my trx, plus do pull ups. And, wondering if I can get a slackline up.  I have a BOSU, step360, kettlebell, handweights, tubes, stability ball.  It's crossed my mind to get a tv so I can do yoga but I really don't like yoga.

Sounds like a good plan.  One of the things my husband did is install a plank of wood along the wall and screwed (or nailed, I honestly don't know) those round bolts in and he attached carabiners to those.  That way, I have a lot of options for anchoring my Spri bands without spending a lot of money.

Hahaha-I feel very wysiwyg today. My husband is endeavoring to redo my office and put in built-ins, redo the flooring, etc. I cringe to think how long it will take. Jean, hopefully your bedroom to workout room conversion will go quickly.

Not much happening in my world right now. It's raining and going to continue. My granddaughter is still in the hospital for observation. They know something is wrong based on her behavior (she acts like she is drunk) but they can't pinpoint the cause. They are pretty sure her brain fluid is involved. So we are in a wait and see holding pattern.

I am going to help hubby clean out the garage in preparation for my office remodeling. I despise cleaning the garage! If you don't see me on Monday it's because we have killed each other. lol

Have a great weekend!

That sounds like a good idea. Maybe I could attach the slackline to the board.  I'm also thinking of this:

I'll be on American Ninja Warrior yet!

Hope they figure what's going on w/ your granddaughter!  Poor thing.

Yeah, we need to clean the garage out but I have the fear it'll lead to fighting. My husband could easily be a hoarder.

Garages can be catch alls. My brother for some reason cleans his on the Saturday before Mothers Day each year. And it isn't a gift to my sister in law, she doesn't seem to care. My aunt on the. Other hand has never been. Able to park her car in the garage, which opens into the house. This winter she was afraid of falling onthe ice and I suggested parking in the garage and she acted like I suggested parking on the roof...just not possible to her...Jean, do you really want to work out at home! It seems like you like the social aspect of working out. Maybe I am just projecting. FSN, my outsider opinion on your husband is that he likes to be in control, and it sounds like a lot of things in your joint life are not under your control right now. Or maybe he's just crabby....Karla,hope they find something about your granddaughter quick. Gymrat, hope a non. Surgical solution. Works for you. I worked out this morning - 8 minute bike warm up, lifting for legs, then abs. Had a goodbye lunch with a former team of mine, then drinks and dinner with two women I have worked with off and on for years. Ism emotionally exhausted, with a week. To go...enjoy your. Weekends!

Good question about working out at home. No, I don't want to work out at home and I do enjoy going out.  I wouldn't mind having a place to practice some moves, though, at home.  It would be my practice workout room. The other thing is my daughter has been asking about using the TRX and my son would like a pull up bar and I have workout equipment everywhere so it would be nice to have it contained. Since my son went to school, he sleeps in the basement when he comes home (probably the nicest space in the house because we just had it done--bathroom, bedroom, huge TV/family room area, computer) so we have this empty room.
