How's it going?

How's everyone doing? I can't believe we're at the end of the month already!!

I am happy to report that I lost 3 of the 7 pounds I gained back. I'm hoping to reach my goal by the end of the year. 40lbs in 4 months. I'd really like to be able to fit into some nice fall outfits. Not that I can't fit, but you know what I mean. Skinny people clothes.

I have a EMG test in a couple of weeks that I am really nervous about. Basically, "A needle is inserted through the skin into the muscle. The electrical activity is detected by this needle (which serves as an electrode). The activity is displayed visually on an oscilloscope and may also be detected audibly with a speaker. Since skeletal muscles are often large, several needle electrodes may need to be placed at various locations to obtain an informative EMG. After placement of the electrode(s), the patient may be asked to contract the muscle (for example, to bend the leg)." I need it done on both arms/hands. Uh-huh. I'm super nervous. I have no one to go with me. My husband and kids will go "with" me, but wait in the car (since the kids can't be there...though they would prove to be a good distraction, lol!). I just hope I don't cry.

Hopefully all will be well and I can get on with going to the gym. I go now but just do the cycle. I'd like to add in some arm weights, but being unsure of weakness in arms/wrists from my "probable" carpal tunnel, I certainly don't want to pick up a weight or attempt at pulling/pushing one.

How's everyone else doing?

Congratulations to you. I lost 25 lbs last year and I am managing to keep it off but I can't seem to move to the next level. I'd like to take off another 10 but the scale is not budging for me.

I had CTS release surgery a few years ago and while my situation never got completely resolved, it did help tremendously. Good luck with your testing. The EMG is not all that bad. It's just uncomfortable for a few minutes.

Hi, I've just joined, hoping posting will get me to stick to my healthy eating plan. I lost about 42lbs with weight watchers but after car accident have fallen off the wagon and put on 12lb. Find w.watchers eating plans great but can't get to weigh in anymore and my skinny people clothes are getting quite tight, so today is the first day of being good. Will post next week with (hopefully) with update of how things go. Hope all of you have a good week

Thank you, Wendy! Great job yourself. I lost 65lbs a few years ago and have gained 20 back. Ugh. My problem is exercise (well, the lack of....). I'm determined now though.

I'm not sure what I'll do about the surgery. I'm not in that much pain, but the wrists are screaming right now. Bleh. I'm also tires of them falling asleep so easily. But I should wear the splints more than I do.

Hi! Welcome! That's a great weight loss! Are you doing the online plan? Or did you stop completely?

Hi, hope this was your reply to me, I am still getting used to using the site. I went to one of the local meetings where there was a lot of support from the group leader and the other members, I enjoyed the leader's talk and the chatting with other people. Actually having to get on the scales for the leader really kept me on track. She runs three groups but I can no longer get to any of them. As online has no weigh in I didn't think it would work for me, I have been weighing myself at home and just watching the dial climb up as much as go down. I know if I have to tell you all how I have done over the week I will not do any/as much 'silly' eating. Do other people find posting how they have done helps them stay on track?

Hi! Sorry yes, I should have quoted you so you'd know. That's great that you went. I tried WW online but it wasn't for me. I think if I post more here then yes, I'm more inclined to stay on track. :)
