Hi everyone. I'm new here. I have about 60 pounds to lose and am struggling. I am in a place where I hate everyone who is losing weight. The green monster has totally caught hold of me. At least I'm aware of the fact I'm jealous, right?  That's what I keep telling myself anyway. I don't eat too bad. I eat 1500 calories a day, using a calorie app, to lose weight. I'm not starving at the end, but I am annoyed at those who can eat whatever. But still the weight is hard to lose. I know I need to exercise more. Hoping the weather will get nice so I can get out and bike ride like I normally like to do. Just feeling down.

Do you have any suggestions on how to stop the jealousy? And maybe how to kick things into gear weightloss wise too?

Thanks.

Hi Laura,

Welcome! I can totally understand your feelings. Sometimes I feel the same way. I think it's normal to feel that way. Once you get in a groove and start losing yourself, you'll definitely feel better!

As for jump-starting, why not try some indoor exercises while waiting for warmer weather. If you don't want to do a routine, add some moves while you do chores. :)

Good luck! I hope you stick around and join us!

Oh I know what you mean. A trainer at my gym told me and my workout partner to buy a couple of new peices of workout clothing to motivate ourselves to exercise more. Something about it did indeed spur us to hit the gym more. You might want to give it a try.

That's a great idea.  I have a couple matching outfits that I wear when I exercise, and I'm not even at a gym.  I exercise at home.  But it's definately a pick-me-up to wear something that looks nice rather than a ratty t-shirt and shorts!  Just make sure it's comfortable and won't hinder your movement.  I bought a lot of my stuff off clearance racks in the sporting goods stores.

Jealousy is not always a bad thing.  I too find myself seething with envy when someone else shows a big loss.  It CAN be turned into determination.  If they can do it, you can do it.  They are no better than you!

Right now I find myself secretly competing with my best friend.  She and I are always trying to lose, and I don't want her to get ahead of me.

Thank you everyone. I appreciate the ideas. I'm feeling a little better this week.

I am down two pounds from Monday. Here's to keeping going!
