What works for weight loss?

I'm sure between every person on iVillage that has ever lost weight, we probably have every possible supplement, pill, diet plan and worthless gimmick covered as far as what we have tried. So, what have you found that truly works best?

I've tried so many weight loss gimmicks and failed every time, miserably!! Finally I realized that any short cut or quick fix is never gonna work for me. Clean eating habits and decent amount exercise are the only two things that can make you win this battle. I've started this journey a few years ago, and have come a loooong way! These two things have earned me stronger muscles, smaller clothes, better posture, more flexible joints and over all happiness of mind. Only a couple of pounds to go, and I'll be at the best shape of my life!!

Dior, you have hit the nail on the head! There is no quick and easy way to weight loss. It requires a complete overhaul of your diet and lifestyle. I have tried very few supplements because I don't know how they will react with my meds. But I have tried different diet plans and have found that the only thing that works for me is healthy nutritious eating. Your body needs nutrients and will respond favorably if it gets them. And exercise is necessary not just for weight loss, but for control of your bodily functions. Good job!
