Yikes--reminds me how much time I've spent here over the years!
What an awesome idea!! Will you be posting a training schedule? ;) hehehe-some of us may have to start from scratch.

LOL, should I post a training plan on getting to 10k posts? Oh, I can't even think of the hours that translates to...
lol Jean-I saw that the Running Women were going to do a race together-that is so neat.! I'd love to participate but some time around that date my son will be graduating from Officer Candidate School (we don't have exact dates yet) so it's not something I can commit to attending until we get exact dates.
Hehe-let's see..training schedule to reach 10K posts starting from 0-10K would be roughly about what...200

Yeah, a few of us have signed up for a team (of 15) and are currently putting together another one because there's so much interest. You don't have to sign up now but it would be so cool if you could do it!
You know that's not too bad Jean-3-4 months to be running 5 miles for someone who starts from the beginning.
I was really really suprised when my hubby reached 5k. He has never in his life been a runner and so last summer he decided to start jogging. He started very slowly and added in a little each week. By the time he had to give it a break (knees), he was doing 3 miles in 30 minutes which I thought was totally impressive. It actually was fun for us to go to the gym together and get on side by side treadmills (we had to do most of our training indoors because of the ferocious winter we had) and run together. I keep telling him we need to get started together again and he keeps saying that he just might in a couple of weeks when he has more time at work. He still weight lifts 4-5 days a week but he's been slacking in the cardio dept.(lol I am waaaay ahead of him right now and he needs to take advantage of the fact I'll only be able to walk for several more weeks because of an ingrown toenail-UGG)

Hope you can make the race! They have a second team forming at the RW board and you'd get a $10 discount.
Congratulations, Jean.
OMG, are you kidding me?!
