Yesterday was my field trip to play on the great yoga wall and it was so fun! What an awesome piece of equipment. I really hope we end up buying one, I can see SO many possibilities for it. Heres the website so you can see what it is: http://www.yogawall.com/
The studio owner wasnt selling the product or anything, she just had one and was willing to let us come and play. She has been teaching for 30+ years and was just a really interesting and passionate person. Her speciality is Iyengar, which to many people is boring, but I honestly wish more people would take it.... especially in a club/gym type atmosphere where you see so many going to Vinyasa/flow classes and just teaching or doing things that are completley innappropriate. I had to get on one of my instructors the other day as a matter of fact for inviting her class to do inversions when she was the only one in the room and she had NEW students.
Anyway, it was way cool - our VP went, who does not do yoga or even stretch at all, and she was able to get into some poses and understand the points of energy in ways I've never seen. I did the backbend series and the pelvic swing inversions, and it was really great how deep you could express some of the poses because it takes away the limitations.
Whats super cool is that it has these clip ins for Pilates springs or ballet barres, which for me, just sparks a million ideas.
