I'm feeling a bit stuck so I thought I might poke around here for inspiration.

My first thought was a swimming pool with paddles on the hands for resistance...especially in the AZ heat.

A pool would be great but we don't have access to one.

I get why it might have sounded like I want the progress more than she does. That really isn't the case. It's more of not knowing where to go from here and feeling like we are moving laterally instead of vertically.

She does have goals...I know she'd like to get off her meds. I guess what I'm seeking is any workarounds you all might have about how to strengthen her functionally.

It's tough working around knee problems.

Oh, the most awesome thing would be if she'd do the anti-gravity treadmill. I'd love to see how it works.

Awesome ideas, Jean. Thanks! And I've never heard of the antigravity treadmill. Fascinating!

IF you find a hack squat video with the whole exercise, would you post it? I think I get it, but I'm not sure.

It's so frustrating that I can't. I don't know if there's ever been an exercise I haven't found online.

I just happen to be poking and lurking and saw this post so I thought I would look through and see what's been said and if I can add anything...

Not much to add with the leg exercises as those all look like really good ideas but I have one for core strengthening.

Thank you for the ideas! You took me back a bit because I did some of those in therapy a while ago. :)

I don't even think she could do a wall sit so I haven't tried. I've been pushing hard on the squat thing because it's such a functional movement but she says her knees bother her. She does have weaker knees due to old softball injuries but I honestly think it's a lack of muscle memory/training. Thanks much for your ideas and if you come up with anything else, please post it.

Welcome to gym rats! It's always great getting ideas from newbies here. How did your client who weighed 300 pounds do, overall? There's so much room for growth with a client like that--it would be so cool to have one where you could make a big difference.
