Outrageously priced workout clothes and what you pay

My daughter goes to a studio where the girls are incredibly wealthy. Lululemon is the dancers choice and most girls have tons of outfits. I thought it was a lot to spend on clothes for that age but I indulge my daughter.  So, I found this site w/ super cute clothes.  But, I can't get over the prices!

Would you ever spend that for clothes? I'm thinking those cost more than my ski clothes!

LOL I have to laugh because I have to be very careful to make sure my sports bras have padding so people can tell I am a woman.

I am going to check out some of those more expensive bras for my daughter who is a 34DD. She usually wears two sports bras when doing anything that involves jogging or jumping. If we can find her something that works then I don't mind paying a little more for them.

Gym-do you wear those Danskin workout clothes from Walmart? I just bought a couple of their t-shirts but haven't tried their capris yet. I was thinking about trying them.

Our families are so alike.  My daughter loves shopping, my husband buys whatever he wants and never considers price. I'm so frugal sometimes!  I have no need for a designer purse, though my husband has given me a couple.  I can't see replacing them every year, either!

Oh, another question--my husband doesn't like fashion, can't dress himself and acknowledges it. So, every occasion, he somehow decides that he's going to buy ME clothes or jewerly, purse, etc. and he spends a lot of money on them. Seriously, he has no tashion sense; he knows he can't dress himself so I'm wondering why he thinks he knows enough to dress me???  I have had him take things back but have kept some things just because I feel bad. Should I just tell him?  This isn't cheap costume jewelry but probably costs hundreds of dollars into low thousand.  Designer handbags.  I tried to make it easy one year by picking a few out and telilng him what I want. But, he decided to free style it and buy something that I would never pick out.  I use it but it doesn't close, has a huge magnet that catches everything, including cars, and no pockets.  He tries hard but I get upset when I look around at all the gifts he's given me over the years that I've never used. All that money!

Karla, small bra size or what, you definitely look like a woman!  I was shocked at the bra fitting and when the woman told me,I was sure she was wrong.

Yep, I think most of what I've bought is Danskin.  It's inexpensive and seems to last.  Although, for $12 and how much abuse they've endured, I'd feel okay if it fell apart too.

Also Karla, for your daughter, check out the Champion Action Shape bras.  Those are great bras for the well endowed and they are not as heavy duty as the Enell.  I've got some that are probably 7 or 8 years old...

Jean, where did you get the bra fitting? I haven't had one since probably my first real bra....which was a very long time ago. I thought about going to that Intimacy bra store in the mall because they advertise their fitters, but when I looked online at their prices I changed my mind.

lol on dh buying designer handbags.  DH bought me two, one of which is too heavyand hurts my shoulder.  :(  To this day, he complains that I do not carry it. But I feel too guilty to just give it away, so it sits in the dustbag in my closet.  I am very functional, and I just love the crossbody handbags now, since it doesn't put strain on my injured shoulder.  Third world problems.  :P

After 10 years of working out wearing basically the same black yoga pants and colorful t shirts, I've just bought all new workout clothes...mostly at Marshall's. I did get one to pat Old Navy...after coupons and such, my cash outlay was a whopping 50 cents. The Marshall's stuff is name brand..and I have no idea what year it is from...I am happy with it. I do spend on my running shoesbutthat's about it. A d I usually buy two or three new bathing suits at Marhalls in March when the stock first comes in. Those becomemy 'nice' ones and last years go into the lap swimming rotation. I can usually get three years out of a bathing suit, but I havea. Ton of them, some for just sitting at the pool. I ever spend more than 30 dollars. And I bought my sports bras at Walmart...I know lots if peoplecare critical of their feasts, but to me, mine are the perfect size. As for the husband presents issue...don't have that problem. I buy my own gifts...when I am Christmas shopping, if I see something I like, I buy it for me. There are people in my life who I exchange gifts with, but no major person. And I actually think of the things I buy that way as gifts...and I have to say, sometimes I find something else I like better, and I return the first one...and idon't feel guilty:). The past few purses I've bought came from a little place called 'the Tibet Emporium'. They are made of that beautiful fabric,,,I think of it as Oriental. I think they are made in Tibet. They are very lightweight, hold a ton of stuff, and they sell things in all sizes so I get little. Bags to go inside the big bag for my phone, coupons, makeup....I love themand I get a lot of compliments. I had a pink one this Summer which got a little dirty, but I am using a maroon one now that I dragged all over Krakow...I carry so much stuff around, and these start out so light that it is a help.

I went to Nordstroms. My friends planned it and I joined them. I'd heard they were a good thing to do but had never gotten around to it.
