It changes with each workout. Sometimes, if I don't feel like thinking, cardio is my preference because I just get on the elliptical and go.
When I do have the brain capacity, I enjoy lifting. I save exercises from magazines and incorporate them into my routines and eventually pass them onto clients if I like them. I do a different lifting program every single time I lift which is probably why sometimes my brain is excited about it and sometimes it isn't.
I prefer cardio - I feel such a reduction in my tension level, and it clears my head in a meditative sort of way. I like weights because I know it's good for me (bones, muscles, etc.) and because it makes my body look nicer, but I find it to be boring because my mind wanders, whereas with fastpaced cardio choreography, I don't have time to let my mind wander. :)
I love lifting - but I lift with a trainer and the conversations are always interesting - not just between us but in the whole community of lifting. I love deadlifts, squats, and lunges, so I guess I like lower body but I enjoy it all. There is such variety, and the challenge that there is always more you can do to make it harder.
I also love to swim, and I like the challenge of running. I find cardio restful, almost meditative.
I'm a cardio person.

I think of you as the lifting guru--I'm always impressed w/ how much you're lifting.
You probably do a lot of regular lifting even outside the gym w/ three little ones.
