I really like this article--a lot of good no-nonsense advice.

Yeah, ever since Karla posted that article about injuries in yoga, I have really been "listening" to my own body when I work out.

Since 've started teaching at my corporate fitness job, with really young men and women, I've come to realize that guys will push themselves too hard and not listen tot their bodies. I've had three guys get light headed and feel sick in my classes!

The trainers on the Biggest Loser are really scary (and not good trainers, terrible form, terrible DVDs--whenever someone tells me they're doing Jillian Michaels, I cringe).

Agreed. I quit watching the show because I couldn't stand to watch how disrespectful they can be. And I don't buy the "this is for your own good" bit. No one needs to be disrespected "for their own good."

Were you the one who posted the article from a woman who'd been on the show and she talked about how demeaning they'd be and treat them like trash but turn around and keep telling them how lucky they were to be there? I think the Biggest Loser has set up wildly impossible goals, workouts, etc.
