According to recent Health Day News: " American women are less likely than men to get at least 30 minutes of exercise a day, a new study shows....The Oregon State University study of more than 1,000 women and men found that women averaged only about 18 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous exercise daily, while men averaged 30 minutes." I find the 18 minutes interesting. That is quite a bit less than men. Any ideas why?

That's interesting. Since I go to the gym during the day, all I see are women!

I think it just depends on the sample they drew the information from - education level, age, geography, ethnicity, etc.

I thought about this study too and have to wonder if we don't see something different because we surround ourselves with people who typically work out and exercise is a very important part of our lives.

At 18 minutes I'd feel like I was just getting warmed up and ready to go. I can understand the 30 if you were just timing cardio and in a hurry but not the 18.

I wonder, also, with the way the study was run, if men tend to be more competitive and worked out more because they're wearing that device?
