Allergies at the peak on Friday

My eyes, sinuses, nose, and throat are all feeling the massive effects of allergies. I can hardly wait for spring to be over. After work today, I travel to load up my daughter from her dorm, followed by ballroom dancing with my mom. The dancing is not as fun since I think the people who asked me to dance are giving me pity dances since I don't know all of the advanced steps. But, I love seeing the joy of my mother's face when she dances. Knowing how I feel when I line dance, when I watch her, I know that she is in that wonderful endorphin-filled states. I'm Sunday we have a nice brunch at the country club with my daughter my mother my mother's best friend and my mother's best friend's daughter. And then we come home to unpack. It's going to be one step at a time as we work through the trials of college teenager angst. My work out, today, will be moving boxes in and out of a car. Oh, also some ballroom dancing.

SJ-I love lobster!! It has been a long time since I've had it. I'm not even sure I've seen it at the grocery here in ages. Have a big ole bite for me! :-)

Yum, lobster.  I had a lobster roll last week and it was sooo good. It made me think I need to come visit NE more!  Back when I lived in Boston, lobster hit $1.99/lb. It was a great summer (late 80's maybe).

I normally do charge clients who cancel late. We have a 10pm cancellation clause. But, it wasn't his fault that he couldn't park and get to the gym and he did come.  And, I really like this client.  He's ost 65 lbs, works hard, and is just a lot of fun to work with. If the client doesn't cancel in time and doesn't have a good reason, I do charge. The thing is they're wealthy enough that I don't think it phases them anyway. I don't care how much money I have; I'm always frugal!

Karla, fingers crossed that the baby waits a while. FSN, I agree about the allergist. Premenopause, I had a lot of trouble and drugs helped. Less severe allergies was another menopause benefit for me....jean, I think you should charge clients who cancel. I think you do not put enough value on our skills or your time. Gymrat, another fun sounding weekend. I went to the gym today ( what a shock) and did 12 minutes bike warmup, lifting for shoulders, bis, tris, then abs, then swam a fat 60 laps. The gym closes At 8:00 on Fridays. I walked out the door at 7:59.. I have no good plans for the weekend except Zumba and swimimg, I need to go o the grocery store...well not 'need' but lobster is on sale and I am thinking if treating myself..they will cook them for you. I was thinking of getting a few and freezing some.

An allergist is a good suggestion.  I can't imagine dealing w/ that every spring!  Since you love ballroom so much, have you thought of taking lessons? It would be a lot of fun!

I had the most frustrating morning! I was ready for four clients, grudgingly. One cancelled early which was fine because she was the earlier. This morning, I received a text sent the night before that another had to cancel. I get to the gym at 6:30, garage door to the building is stuck so the 6:45 client cancelled. He's the nicest guy, I really enjoy working with him and had couldn't get in the buildling so he went to work.  He told me to go ahead and charge him but I won't because it's not his fault (actually, I told him if he got in his workout this weekend, I wouldn't charge him but if he blew it off, then I would. He told me I should charge him but if he didn't work out, I could charge him again--haha).  So, four clients down to one and I had a two hour wait for that client.  I think the garage people shouild be the ones to pay!

I went to the 401pk class (parkour conditioning for old people). I'm so out of shape!  Time to start working hard again--I can feel it.

Fresh, good luck with your daughter. I agree with Gym you might want to see an Allergist. I'm on a daily maintenance for seasonal allergies and I have had few problems so far this year.

My day started off with a bang and I am hoping it ends very peacefully. My son called and asked me to come pick up granddaughter early as he has to take his wife to the hospital. She has just passed the 27 week mark and is spotting. They want her in for monitoring. She doesn't think she is having contractions but can't really tell. Her last baby was born at 24 weeks and she never felt the first contraction until the baby was coming out so her doctor is not taking any chances this time. If she can make it to 28 weeks then the chances of this baby having the same problems as her sister greatly decrease. I don't expect to know anything for hours so I am going to do a few chores and get myself ready to go to work later this afternoon.

I won't have time to get to the gym today but may get a few miles in later tonight around the neighborhood if it isn't raining when I get off.

I really hope I am not making a birth announcement this weekend!

FSN, just wanted to suggest the possibility of seeing an allergist.  You seem to have had a heck of a time this year and I think it's something you could benefit from.  As I know you know, there are a myriad of drugs out there and the right combo can work wonders.  My allergist switched me last week and I'm already seeing a difference.  Might be something to think about so you could get "ahead" of spring next year.

I've got to work this morning.  I'm taking my hoop so we'll see if client likes it or not.  I've also got a consultation with a new client on Monday which is good news. I've been intentionally not accepting new clients (not that they've been beating down my door anyway) but I think I'm well enough to take on more.  Fingers crossed...

I'm doing strength training this morning...  not sure if it'll be traditional strength training or if I might do my one minute yoga as a way of calming my brain.

My brain has been extra busy.  Still processing the stuff with my friend.  I think we're going to meet next week to have a second conversation about it.  I'm trying to psych myself up for a very social weekend.  We're going to see Gatsby tonight with some friends and then meeting more friends for a drink afterward.  Tomorrow, we're party hopping - a graduation party and a birthday.  Sunday, I'm going to stare at the wall.  Tongue Out
