I can't imagine a less productive long weekend! The sad part is I can't even remember what I did.  I even forgot to get here yesterday. I love that shot of you and your son, Karla. Is he about 6'5"-6"?  Funny, that's kind of the difference between me and my son, only I'm just 5'1".  I took my first samba class on Sunday, reinforcing how little movement I get in my hips.  It's easy to fool yourself at Zumba when there are no mirrors and it's dark but wow, in full day light, mirrors everywhere I can't can't get away from it!  I've realized I'm doing a lot of activities these days that are bad for my ego!  From samba to zumba to silks to parkour.  I'm taking up rowing this weekend so I'm just adding on.

I'm going to try a boxing class w/ a friend today.  I'm not into this but she just joined and is super enthusiastic so I said I'd give it a try. I might try a new parkour class out called Eat Your Veggies--mostly balance and safety training for parkour.  I need all the help I can get.  It's at night so we'll see how I do getting out of the house at night.

A non productive weekend is often the sign of a wonderful one.  Cool

Thanks to the holiday, I'm all messed up on my days again.  I've got my usual Monday client this morning.  DH and I are going to a cake tasting this afternoon.  Things are finally starting to shape up with the catering but we need to get on the ball with buying decorations, bar supplies, etc.  I'm doing cardio when I get home this morning.  I've had some knee pain and I'm thinking it's runner's knee (obviously, NOT from running).  I've been trying to baby it a bit and keep things low impact so I'll probably do more elliptical workouts for a while than I'd like.

Jean, just reading your activity list makes me tired. You rock on all of the new "workout "that you were doing. I would love to take dancing classes, but I'm just too busy. Gym rat, enjoy the cake tasting. That sounds phenomenal at this moment. My weekend was jam packed. I visited with my mom, ran some errands for her, went out to dinner with her friends, and came back home. I did a massive cleaning up my clothes closet, and got rid of loads of clothes and shoes. At my daughters and husband insistence, but a bunch of things on eBay. I did one yoga class this weekend, and I too much "bad "food. I tend to eat a lot of chocolate when I'm at my mothers house. This is a jampacked week for me. I have lots of work, a dinner program to manage, lots of follow-up, I think I'm supposed to go to dog training tonight to help out with testing, and I'm just tired thinking about it. What I would really like to do is go to yoga right now. But, I have too much work to do. It will have to wait.

What kinds of cake combinations are you trying?  How many are you planning to have for your anniversary?

How did it go w/ your mom this weekend?  Did you get anything resolved?

Well I am just getting here and I had a very productive weekend. My house is almost totally clean, the food is ordered for the shower (I broke down and got it from the deli) and the centerpeice is made (a diaper cake). I have family coming in tomorrow and I think I am ready to have fun and celebrate.

Jean, my son is just slightly over 6'5. I always use him as an example in my mind of how wrong doctors can be. They told us when he was born they thought he was going to be a dwarf because his femur was too short. I can only imagine how tall he would be if he didn't have some sort of "dwarfism" in him. ;-)

I would love to try samba! I hope my gym gets it soon. Of course I feel weird moving my hips in Zumba so I can't imagine how I would do in Samba.

SJ, my gym is trying to work out arrangements for members to have pool privs at the high school when they get their new pool and I thought of you. I need a new suit if I am going to be out in public swimming laps anytime soon. I reserve my bikini for tropical beaches where no one really knows me. lol

We tried several combinations today.  We ended up going with a two tier - yellow cake with vanilla buttercream and lemon cake with raspberry filling.

I mom's memory loss continues. I recently saw an article that gave advice to people in my position, "enjoy the clear moments."I was a little startled though, because last night after the dog training class, I saw a message from my mother's doctor and she recommended that I talk to a lawyer..ugh. Major ugh.
