I'm trying to get a box out to my son of cookies and all today so I've been busy baking. I'm on the fence about whether to overnight it but we'll see the cost difference. I remember it being over $40 for my daughter so I did the two day shipping. But, baked goods only have so long of a life span. Yeah, first world problems.  I had an early morning client which is going to become a problem because they're puttng me on the schedule for one person.  It's a hike for me, plus I pay tolls so it works out, post tax to about $7 post tax/gas/toll. It's really not worth my time to get up that early for that.

Through the summer, I thought parkour was a great workout because I was dripping sweat during class. Well, apparently, I was dripping sweat because it's in an unair conditioned warehouse and about 100 degrees. I barely felt anything this Saturday. Don' get me wrong--it's an amazing workout when you're good. At my level, it's a lot of standing around, psyching yourself up, and waiting in line to do some little stunt.  So, I need to find a tougher workout as my go-to.  And, I can't do anything at the gym because it's just old gym stuff that's mind bogglingly boring now.

lol Jean. I'm reading that you need a tougher workout and it makes me feel like a whimp (especially after my run this morning). I don't care for hard, sweat dripping workouts all the time but do like an occasional challenge.

I had a great run this weekend (3 miles 27.1 minutes) so decided to go out this morning for another run. I should not have gone out. From the start I felt tight and uncomfortable. I was completely overdressed and I felt like I was moving in slow motion. At mile one my attitude was rapidly declining so I stopped and walked. Ugg.

Abby had a great audition (well the coaches said so at least) and she felt great about herself. We won't find out if she gets a part until Wednesday. It is ridiculous how nervous I am about it.

I will probably do a long walk tonight to lift my spirits.

Jean, you are so sweet to bake for your son. I am sure he will appreciate the package. I am in on you in doing the parkour. Carla, good luck to Abby. It's so exciting, and it's so hard to be a parent and watch your child try out for things. I am exhausted. I went to visit my mom this weekend, saw more of her decline, learned that my aunt had a stroke this weekend, and I just learned we have a mandatory meeting this afternoon to announce more changes at work. I really need a massage, a haircut, a mani/pedi, and a workout! I think I will do yoga tonight. My quantum wellness cleanse begins on Sunday, which is the day after we are going downtown so I guess I may end up splurging Saturday night. I am so looking forward to a relaxing weekend.

Jean, it's always awesome to get cookies in the mail.  My husband made and shipped cookies and shelf stable milk to us at BM.  Unfortunately, due to a little snafu, we didn't receive them when we should have but they were still yummy when we got them.

Karla, I know workouts like that.  Or rather, I remember them.  Sometimes it's better to just go home and paint your nails.

FSN, I think I missed the thing about the quantum cleanse.  What is that and why are you doing it?

Did we lose SJ?

No actual workout but I spent nearly two hours this morning cleaning out the travel trailer which was a pretty tough job.  Spending the rest of the day working on writing projects.  I'm still kind of floating about my Livestrong article (link is on FB if you want to see).  I'm juggling a number of projects right now and it's kind of exciting.

My mom is making awesome progress.  No smoking AT ALL which is huge for her.  She also drove for the first time yesterday so she's getting around pretty good.

Hahaha, you do Insanity!  Your workouts are far harder than mine. I used to teach a class like that, a few times a week and felt like I was in great shape. I could never do that now.  There is just a lot of standing around at the class if more people come, plus I have to modify to my level. I had so much fun at aeriail silks yesterday, though! I really feel like I get stronger doing that. I have to take frequent breaks.

Congrats to Abby!  Hope it goes well for her!

Sorry to hear you had such a hectic weekend and sorry to hear about your aunt. Is she near you?

What is a quantum cleanse?

That was sweet of your husband to send cookies for BM. How is there mail there?  I'm so amazed it's civilized for such a short time and then desert again.  I have never received cookies in the mail come to think of it.  I've mailed hundreds of packages, though.  Hey, I want food mailed to me!  When I was in college, my parents came to visit once. My mom told me she had packed and made a lot of food for me but then decided I shouldn't be eating it so left it at home.  The thing w/ it is, as my father put it, she has no idea how that comes across. In her head, she's being thoughtful.

Good to hear your mom is doing well. Just giving up smoking wlll be a world of difference, as hard as it must be.

I was worried we'd lose SJ w/ all the problems of logging in. Hopefully, she'll be persistent and pop in on occasion. It's nice getting her perspective on things, kind of yoda like!

I don't know how anyone could be the instructor for Insanity. I have trouble just being a student. lol

I hope we haven't lost SJ. I know she was discouraged over all the log in problems (everyone is). Now that all the new staff members and tech crew are clued in and understand what his happening around here, we should start to see some improvements.

Wow.  That would be some mental gynmastics trying to hear your mom's intention rather than what she actually said.

I miss SJ too!  I've always enjoyed the diversity of this group and she had a unique perspective on things.

"That would be some mental gynmastics trying to hear your mom's intention rather than what she actually said. "

When I was 19, I heard, "You're so fat and have no self control so I didn't bring it."

Years later, I can concede, "I made you things because I know you liked them. But, then I worry about your health so I didn't bring it. And, I didn't want you to think I didn't care because I didn't bring anything."

She just doesn't see how it might come off wrong.  Just as she complained to me that my brother got upset at her for telling him he needed to lose weight, "in the nicest possible way."
