Yesterday was so busy - early morning yoga followed by a very busy workday!  Jean, your silks challenge looks awesome!  Karla, I am sore like you after doing physical therapy AND two challenging nag yoga classes on consecutive days.  Today is my rest day.  GR, why the EKG?  Check-up because of your family history?  SJ, the dance venues are few and far between.  EL, what fua outdoor activities do you have planned today?  It is literally FREEZING here today, with a warning of black ice on the roads.  :(. Tons of work today, along with poop pickup duty.  Yuck...at least it's frozen.  Maybe I will do some training with the pup just to get some weight walking in today.  What's going on with your all today...oops, I might be Linedancing tonight!  I forgot!

The echo was because of my mom's history, yeah.  My primary ordered vascular ultrasounds, the echo and did an EKG in the office.  Don't know about the echo yet but the rest were all fine.

FSN, you inspired me to talk to OP about possibly taking one of his dogs to therapy dog training.  We discussed it and decided against it because it would change her personality (she LOVES people and literally stands up on her back legs to "hug" people) but it was a nice thought.  Now, if we could just get her to stop killing rodents and lizards and bringing them into the house, that would be swell.

I have lost my writing mojo a bit with the suspension.  They still haven't told me how long it will be so I'm pursuing other avenues. Meanwhile, I have learned a very valuable lesson about all of this and have instituted a number of practices to ensure it will never happen again.  I've signed up for a couple freelance newsletters that send me job opportunities every day.  And I think I will bite the bullet and finally get a Linked In profile.  I resisted doing Google Plus but they have an authorship program so it was worth doing.

I've got my client this afternoon (I"m down to one and not looking for more) and have to run to Walmart to pick up prescriptions and assorted odds and ends.  Also going to do some cleaning around the house, I think.  Doing a cardio workout this morning - I'm thinking intervals on the elliptical to challenge my heart and lungs.

Early morning client today for me and I have to go back for more this afternoon. I'm teaching dance conditioning. If all goes as planned, I'll get to parkour and silks but we'll see how the traffic/weather is. I've been going in for only one client these days since my other regular is out of town. I've told them I don't want to just one but I don't know what else they can do about it. What is bad is that this client doesn't like the other trainer. I think they need a trainer who can do all the clients in a row. If I complain, I'd be given earlier morning clients and I don't want that either. I just want to stop training in the mornings altogether. But, I think they'd lose both of these clients if I did that.

Have you contacted this place lately about the suspension? Maybe you could tell them you've instituted new procedures and how this will never happen again?

Yep, it's been on my mind to do and your post reminded me.  Thanks for the push.  I wrote them a rather creative "take me back" email.  We'll see what happens.  Laughing

In the meantime, this has been good in the sense that it's forced me to diversify a bit and apply for other things.  So, bright side, bright side.  Although I still feel like an utter fraud.  I'm not sure when the moment will come that I feel like a "real" writer but I suppose it will come eventually.

It is so cold here. I am soooo not ready for this kind of weather! I have been very busy today getting things ready for the rest of the week and weekend. My granddaughter goes in early tomorrow morning for surgery. She has to be washed tonight and tomorrow morning from head to foot in an antiseptic wash since they will be working on her spinal cord. To us the whole procedure sounds horrifying but the doc and staff make it sound like pretty routine.

I'm going to throw some soup ingredients in the crock pot and head to the gym for Insanity class. Hopefully by the time I get on here tomorrow I'll have some good news to report.

Ugg-my nerves are shot!

I rode at the velodrome today. I was lollygaggin' on the computer for much of the morning until I remembered that I had an early afternoon appt so I rushed out the door and cut my ride at 45 mins. To make the short workout count I did 20 min "aerobic" with HR at 135-145. According to a chart (calculated by age) that would be anerobic but I wasn't working that hard. Can anybody recommend a good chart or resource for determing appropriate HR?

Karla, good luck to your granddaughter. FSN, I hope your weather warms up soon. GR, I hear that being on Linked In can be an effective networking tool. Hope you can shake off the doldrums.

Pay attention to whatever you get with the Karvonen Formula.  That will be the most accurate.

I still feel like a fraud in the fitness world. I always feel like I'm pretending, in all my roles, from being a mom to when I was in the business world to fitness or being a ski instructor.  Rob Glick and Kimberly Spreen are presenters and they asked in a class if we had alternate personas when we teach. Most of us raised our hands. Then, they asked if we talk to the personas. No....

I'll be thinking of your granddaughter and your family today.  Let us know how it goes.  It is reassuring to know the doctors/staff have been through it many times.  I guess it would freak me out if they said, "Hmmm, never done this one before!"
