Ew it's cold today-28 degrees. I have a meeting at the park to run 5 miles this morning. If this doesn't toughen me up, I don't know what will. lol There is all kinds of talk of snow next week and I am just not ready for this. {sigh}Just 4 months until spring. I have a lot of family in town and my daughter's play is this weekend. She has three performances (Fri,Sat, Sun) so my whole weekend will be tied up with it. Jean, I would not be happy to have to get up and take a puppy pee every few hours. That is the one thing I love about cats-the litter box. No walking necessary. How long does puppy training usually take? Gym, did your allergy tests reveal anything useful?

Jean, what a cool website! I have been jotting down notes on what I wear in certain temperatures and weather conditions over the past few months and this morning I was perfectly dressed. I bought pair of dri-weave thermal pants and a dri-weave thermal hoodie last week and I am so happy I went ahead and splurged on them. This morning I wore a long sleeve t-shirt and hoodie, my thermal pants, hat and gloves and I was perfectly comfortable the whole run. We don't usually have temps too much cooler than 20s so I am happy to know I can still add another layer, should it get even colder, without bogging myself down with clothing. I am going to have to time my coffee on cold mornings better though because we got to mile 4 and I had to pee something awful. lol

The key to running in the cold is the right clothes. Layer correctly and you won't even feel it, except the nose.  This might be helpful:

I hate starting out cold and end up having to take off layers and tie them around my waist.

I think puppies can go 8 hours about the 4 month mark but like children, it varies.  Maybe we should have gotten a cat... LOL, I subconsciously typed cake instead of cat first.

I had early morning clients (wow, this exhaustion is causing major freudian typos, I wrote hate first and I LIKE these two clients a lot) and am doing the Stepford lunch thing at Nordstroms. I'm not exactly sure what it's about but we get free lunch and then some shopper is going to work w/ us.  I guess I need it.

FSN, your situation reminds me of what my dad said about working. He said it's one thing when you're young and working for an older manager who has no idea what's going on but it gets so much worst as you get older and you end up working for someone much younger, less experienced and less knowledgeable.  So true!

GR, hope all this allergy stuff works out!  It's been miserable for you.  I still think you should apply for Mystery Diagnosis.  You coudl be a reality star!

Karla, I don't envy you running in the cold but I cheer you on from the desert!  Doing anything physical in the cold gives me a runny nose and it's hard to focus on what I'm doing.

FSN, it's tough to determine the best course of action to take.  The older I get, the less I care...

I'm trying to work up the energy to do some cardio this morning.  This week has left me exhausted.  Although getting through the allergy testing has me feeling like I won the Olympics.  Cool  The allergy test results weren't too surprising although it was nice to know what is blooming at any given time.  My allergist is SO, so thorough.  My serum will be ready in 7 to 10 days and then I can start shots.  I can go twice a week to build up faster and I think I will probably do that.

I've got a client this morning and then I've got a massage.  I am in such need of a massage.  Still looking for the "right" therapist though.  Trying a new one today.  No plans for the weekend other than going to a Nine Inch Nails concert tomorrow night.  Best friend and I are going  and I'm very excited. I've been a fan since I was 15.

Have a good weekend guys!

It is BITTER COLD!  This is the first time, in years, that I am FREEZING.  The cold is just biting through my skin!  I think this is an indicator that I am almost completely through menopause.  :D. I have so much ttho today, that I am exhausted just thinking about it!  Yuck.  It will all be worth it, thougWork pack, work, drive down to see my mom.  Run errands for mom and daughter, dive back and spend some quality time with dh.  Prepare for crazy busy workweek with a half day work meeting and two full days with my young, inexperienced, immature, arrogant manager.  Can you tell?!  I am not looking forward to working with my manager.   Perhaps it is time for me to, "go out on a limb," and try tell him him "like it is," in a respectful and professional way.  I have always, in the past, In the workplace,  just "let people be," and, in turn, stuff my true knowledge/feelings.  I am stewing about this.  If he has an e plosives personality (I think he is a chauvinist), he could make my life a living hell, so this may be a bad path to follow.  Someone told me that when he starts talking garbage, I should just tune him out with a certain expletive filled phrase over and over again.  That might be the best plan of actionhim yuck tcorporate ate America.  The young get promoted because they are cheaper labor than the more knowledgeable.
