Flying into Thursday

I posted this on facebook but I did this yesterday (on the first try) and am so excited:

The bars were much closer together for me, though. I just had the best time at parkour yesterday. I never feel like I'm working out or getting tired but I feel it in my quads the next day from all that climbing.  Jumping over stuff when your feet leave the ground scares me to death but if I can hold onto something, I'm fine.  After class, I went to teach dance conditioning where the girls had so much fun playing w/ the BOSU balance trainer and ballast ball. The younger girls are so much more fun to work with than the older girls.  They're just enthusiastic about everything. I had them do hula hoops on the BOSU dome down and they couldn't stop laughing.

I'm teaching step today and maybe going to zumba at night, depending on the type of workout I get from step.  It's parents weekend so I'm going to see my son. Oh, I sound so pathetic like I need a life (and I'm so active! I don't know how parents do it when they don't have their own interests!).

Karla - Reading your race disclaimer yesterday and thought I would share - our Burning Man tickets literally say "You could die here."  So...  just a little perspective.

Jean & FSN - Don't fret about your daughters.  This is how it's supposed to go.  In their brains, you are both idiots and don't know ANYTHING.  I truly believe it's a critical part of the development process to want to leave and then actually leaving.  Wink  The opposite is having a 20-something child at home.  Who wants that?!?!

Didn't make it here yesterday because it was a crazy day.  DH and I spent most of the day helping OP move.  We got a shocking amount accomplished.  By the time I left, the master bedroom, bathroom, linen closet and kitchen had all been unpacked.  I may go back today to help some more but I'm not sure.  I have a project that's due Tuesday and I need to put some time into it.  I may also do 30 minutes on the elliptical.  I am meeting with my new renters tonight to sign a lease and collect money.

Saw my doc on Tuesday and shared my concerns about my risks given what my mom went through over the summer.  She did an EKG in-office and is sending me out for several other heart tests.  The EKG was normal and the tests are just to check.  She also took blood to do a full blood panel.

Missed you guys yesterday!

Omgosh Jean, that is awesome. Anything that would require me flying through the air and grabbing something like that is really scary to think about.

Gym, hahaha-I am a big chicken. I am not sure I would do something with a "You could die" disclaimer. And I am glad to hear your doc is proactive. Heart disease is rampant in my family and my family doc takes it very seriously.

Fresh, one of my children (our oldest) went through hard times with us, the other three are over indulged and spoiled. I feel as though my oldest is more respectful but it could just be that he is older and has been through a lot more in life than they have.

I am going to run tonight.

You are hardcore, that is awesome! jean!  GR and Kar, thanks for the words of wisdom.  GR, hareas your sinus health?  I am still recovering from this cold...so tired, still!  I may go for Dogtraining tonight.  It's light walking, and the trainer called me last week to check in.  I travel to see my mom tomorrow after work, so it will be another busy weekend.  ok, back to this training session.

The sinus health is just okay.  I've been on antibiotics for about 10 days so it's always  more manageable when I'm on drugs.  I get my next magic injection next week and then we're rechecking blood next month to see how my levels are reacting.  Fingers crossed..

We missed you yesterday, too! That was nice of you to help OP move.  Were the problems your mom had genetic or lifestyle?

Yeah, I know daughters are supposed to have mom problems and I'm luckier than others. But, I see some moms and daughters who are so close and wonder why it's different. Then again, I need to count my blessings that my son and I are close.  I'm thinking it's getting to skewed thinking when I'm going along the lines that distant parenting might be the way to go!  Sadly, a friend of mine (who has passed away) told me the best thing to happen to her relationship w/ her daughter at 15 was when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She said her daughter had an about face and become so caring of her.  She was in remission when I met her and had been for five years but it came back and that's always a bad thing.  Her daughter is an amazing young woman, it seems.

It freaked me out.  The swinging part is fine, just like a swing when we're young. Letting go wasn't as hard but the catching was a leap of faith. As I grabbed the bar, my heart about jumped out of my chest, "Yes! I didn't miss!"

LOL, I have to admit that anything with a "you could die" disclaimer catches my eye, in that it draws me in.

Glad you're slowly recovering! Be kind to yourself and take it easy.
